George Martin goes a long way …
Posted by Tom Fones on 15/09/2020 at 12:57to talk shop with Brian Wilson.
Hi ladies,
i am hoping you will enjoy George Martin visiting Brian Wilson in L.A. and discussing recording
and producing in the studio. I hope Rudy might enjoy this as well. Six minutes.

It snowed smoke ashes on my car again last night.

What a fantastic clip!
I can’t believe we’ve never seen this so thanks for sharing it with us. There is so much mutual respect in this video, it was wonderful to witness.
I’ll show this to Dad too, for sure 🙂 -
Love that video, my other music hero, Brian Wilson! Yeah great to see two legends in the studio discussing music, and Brian talk about where that melody comes from. This kind of studio work would be right in MLTs wheelhouse.

Thanks Thomas, I enjoyed it! Seeing George drive along in his convertible along Sunset Blvd with Beach Boys music brought back so many memories from the 90s when I use to go down there often (my brother lives down there). Many of those sites are so familiar to me, especially that famous section along Sunset where Tower Records is. Been there a lot. Also once left a 100 feet patch of black rubber along there somewhere when I had to come to a screeching stop in my mustang with all 4 wheels locked to avoid running into the back of a Porsche 911. Got flat tops on my soft compound Good Year Eagle Gatorback treads. The driver in front of me didn’t realize the mustang’s brakes aren’t as good as his, though the acceleration certainly was. So many stories! 🙂

BTW, hope you’re doing OK Thomas in Davis these days with the fires.  We got the smoke from Oregon and Washington all the way up in Vancouver. Was the 2nd worst city in the world yesterday with the air quality which went off the charts. Saw what happened to Ashland OR and Medford, so sad. I use to stop in at Ashland often whenever I use to go through there along the I-5.

Thanks Jung,
I feel safe but the air is very bad.
Sometimes we can’t see the sun.
My health club moved all the weights outside on account of the virus and now they frequently
close down on account of air quality.
My favorite watering hole here in Davis only has one bartender on account of the virus
and she has asthma.
It sounds like you miss the golden state.
I had friends in Surrey but they moved to Kamloops.
Stay well
