Posted by David Herrick on 12/10/2020 at 20:25A very insightful interview from earlier this month. Lots of stories I had never heard.

Wow what an amazing interview, David, thanks for posting it! So much unique and intimate insight from Paul about his relationship with John growing up, probably because the interviewer was Sean Lennon, Paul really opened up. Never knew Paul might have become a school teacher if he hadn’t met John! Liked where he described how they really complemented each other as artists, John and Paul, like Yin and Yang!

David, here is another recent Paul McCartney interview where he talks about John Lennon. Some revealing stuff in it I thought, especially the tragedies John went through in his childhood with his parents that Paul goes into in a lot of detail.

Thanks for posting that interview, Jung! It nicely complements the other one. More insights into John’s formative experiences, and cool details about Paul’s relationship with him.

David, yeah Paul gives some heartwarming account of the person John was. Their relationship certainly went far deeper than the Beatles and all the post Beatles break up tension the media exploited.
I found this video where John refers to Paul as his best friend.

Joe, that’s a great interview, thanks for posting it. Some touching accounts about John from his little sister, like how he would take her to see Elvis in the theaters. Julia talking about what it was like having John for a brother kind of rings close for me as my little sister is about 7 years younger than me too. I would love to see and even touch his famous upright Steinway piano (symbol of peace) he bought in 1970 that he composed Imagine on. I liked what she said about John at the end there, how he was a true artist, and if he were still alive today, he might be “busking in the rain outside the closed Cavern Club to make a point”, and he’d still be out campaigning for peace.

Hey Jung,
I thought you would enjoy it. It was the first time I ever saw his sister Julia.

In the event you did not see 20/20 tribute to John Lennon the other night. Very touching.
It is long. An hour and 20 minutes.

Hey Joe, that looks like an interesting video on John Lennon. Will watch it, thanks for that.
