Here’s a little puzzler:  what are the highest and lowest notes ever sung on a Beatles song?  These are my off-the-top-of-my-head candidates:

Highest note:  John, in Tell Me Why:  “do” in the line “Is there anything I can do?”

Lowest note:  John, in I’m a Loser:  “crossed” in the line “There is one love I should never have crossed.”

Can anyone think of any instances that are more extreme?

Nice puzzle question David.  This must be from your teacher side.

How about She’s Leaving Home for the highs.  As for lows, not sure.  How about Don’t Let Me Down.

David -Three  songs that come to mind. Were the hard ones to  perform live. Which would be Paperback Writer, Day Tripper and even I’m A Loser.  Oh and Rain.

But I am going with the following. For High end.

Arnold Schwarzenegger use this line in the first terminator.

Wait for it … John on –  I’ll Be Back         Line – I thought you would realize, That if I ran away from you.  etc…

On the low end. John on Norwegian Wood   –   And when I awoke. I was alone. This bird has flown. etc.

Another song for both high and low would be Yes It Is –  In this song John has a lot of lines high and low. Won’t list them but trust me. This by far captures the low and high of John’s voice. And in one song. Heck even the volume tone pedal on the song has highs and lows.

I found this on YouTube.  I don’t have a great ear, but I suspect the higher notes are falsetto.

OK I’m going with Jung on the high note (she’s leaving home) and David on the low note (I’m a loser) Phone lines are closed, do we have a winner?

Is it logically possible for a song called “I’m a Loser” to be a winner?
