Now that Thanksgiving is over, Christmas music is in full swing here in the USA, Actually has been for a week now, but love it. I know I have posted this before but if anyone gets a chance ? Googel B E Taylor and listen to O Holy Night. He does such a wonderful job with this song and his range is awesome. He passed away a couple of years ago but his music ( Christmas ) is great and now that Mona and Lisa have their Christmas album out? I ranked it at the top of my list and will have their album on Christmas morning as my grand daughter Maddie is opening her gifts.

In my neighbourhood some of the houses have Christmas lights up now.  In the old Roe residence I was in charge of putting up the lights outside every year.  Me and my mother, she would direct me while I moved the step ladder around hanging the lights up and over all the little trees and shrubs around the yard until the whole front yard was lit up.  Some years we had the prettiest lights in the neighbourhood.  Me and my mom would be proud of our brilliant light show creation.  When dad came home, he would nod with approval.  Those were good times I miss.  Those memories make Christmas more sweet these days and the passion I feel listening to “Christmas”.  It’s All I Want Christmas To Be.

I bought the Twins Christmas album a couple months ago when I was buying up everything they had produced.  I listened to it once or twice than set it aside since it was too early.  Now I’m playing it every day.

One of my favorite versions of “O Holy Night” is by BarlowGirl.  You can find it on YouTube.  I’d love to hear MLT come up with their own arrangement of this song involving some creative use of drums and electric guitar.

Yepoers, Christmas time arrived in Ottawa, there is a special Magic Lights display, in Ottawa at Wesley Clover Equestrian Park I can’t  go go see as you need a car to see it, I don’t  drive, and with Covid, unless you’re  in a family or close friend bubble with someone who drives,  you’re  out of luck but there are houses, etc decorated with Christmas lights, etc…  I have fond memories of going out at night with my parents,  driving around in different neighborhoods  to see all the Christmas lights, decor,  I miss that but cherish those memories. It’s still a tad sad to have Christmas without my parents ( they passed on) and now with Covid, not even sure I’ll be able to spend with my family,  I’ve not physically in person seen them  since last Christmas. One of the Christmas traditions I still do, crank up Irish Rover ‘s ” Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” and ” Merry Bloody Xmas To Me” as my fave Irish Rovers Xmas song classics though  their other Xmas stuff is good but those 2 stand out and are played Xmas Day in the morning.  Also, is Glass Tiger’s ” Give Love For Xmas” and they just released their own Xmas Album, and I live many other Xmas songs, but ever since I bought MLT Xmas CD last year, that too, has now become a Xmas Day Tradition for je  well  I do pkay it before Xmas…lol…it helps bring me into the spirit and even moreso this year…

    Jacki,

I am with you, my parents ( grand parents raised me ) have been gone for 20 plus years and I miss them dearly. The world is in a very dark place and praying for a light at the end of tunnel for us all. I miss seeing my family and going to concerts etc…..BUT the Mona Lisa Twins and their Christmas Album is a joy to listen to. How about Santa Baby? When I first saw this I said oh no not another song with that Nature them but they surprised me and did a different take on it and made it fun to listen to. So I Play drums and I have asked Santa for new drums for quite some time, my set I have now is old so maybe Mona can help me and ask Santa to hook me up…LOL….
