My favourite MLT playlist
Posted by Jung Roe on 28/01/2021 at 16:27This can change, but my favourite MLT playlist would include these 4 forever. Do you have one?

All great choices. Walking in the air is hauntingly beautiful.
I don’t watch much TV or movies, so it broke my heart to realize that they didn’t write it.

Hi Thomas. MLTs Walking in the Air arrangement is so brilliant and all their own, it might as well have been written by them. I’ve heard Walking in The Air on many classical CDs for decades, and when I heard MLTs version that first time, it just eclipsed all others I’ve heard. Never thought a rock version could even be possible and so incredibly great.

Walking On The Air is made for skiing. I took my MLT library skiing yesterday. We got four inches of snow the night before, so conditions were perfect. Walking On The Air was on replay for a while. It’s driving rhythm is perfect for carving through the powder. Other highlights were Once Upon A Time and Nothing Is In Vain. Actually all of When We’re Together was great. Well, use extreme caution with Dreams. It’s hypnotic groove can affect your reaction time.

Jung.
For me? It starts with Revolution and The Last Time, these are the ones that drew me in. And then When I am 64, my god the guitar parts they do between the two of them is perfect. But so many my goodness…Two of Us, This boy is Mine, Wide Wide Land, Friend of mine, Best Years of our Lives, All I want for Christmas, Walking in the Air….I better stop…LOL…SORRY But the quality and love they put into their music makes it hard to just pick one….

I live all equally for their own uniqueness , whether it be an original or cover and it’s constantly revolving, but for today’s sake , I chose these 4: for originals and then 4 covers:
Originals:
Once Upon A Time…
Hey Waiter…
No More Worries Company
Wide Wide Land
Covers:
For What Its Worth
I Saw Her Standing There
Hey Bulldog
Mercedes Benz

Thanks JP, Bill, Jacki, love your MLT playlist suggestions.
Please keep them coming, what particular MLT song combinations appeal to you. Of course it’s always an evolving thing. Sometimes just the random selections coming out of the Jukebox is perfect.

My top four originals: Sweet Lorraine, Close to You, June, and I Don’t Know Birds That Well.
My top four covers: Till There Was You, Here, There and Everywhere, If I Fell, and Tonight You Belong to Me.

Hi David. If I had to go to a deserted Island with only 8 MLT tunes, those 8 you mentioned, I could easily agree with. Niiiiice choices!

I was listening to Duo Sessions on the way home tonight and I was caught off guard when Here Comes The Sun rolled into Good Day Sunshine. My CD player is on constant replay, so this happens once in a while. When an album ends, I usually switch to a different CD, but there is something about this sequence that works. This is also kool with Orange. Still A Friend Of Mine ends, and it’s The Future.
A good album is one that gets engrained into your psyche to the point of the slightest little difference can rock the boat. So put one on shuffle and see if you hear any kool sequences.
And now for a disclaimer: In no uncertain terms am I suggesting that the MLT albums be played in a different order. They sound best(perfect) in the order they were created.

Hi JP, yeah Here Comes The Sun rolled into Good Day Sunshine is a great combo when the replay is on. Like it.
On the 2nd CD of Live At the Cavern, I like the triple punch ending with energetic and fun Kansas City, One More Time, and Revolution. In Orange, I also like the ending from Club 27 to Still A Friend of Mine, such a spectacular contrast. I like the transition from Still A Friend of Mine (into) The Future you point out too.

Hi Bill, holy moly is right, nice playlist! I remember a couple of summers ago had Orange playing while exploring ranch country in northern British Columbia, and: In It For Love, Close To You, Count On Me, and Sweet Lorraine were perfection as we drove along.
Early in my MLT journey I remember the 2007 Concert album in it’s entirety through my headphones as I sat on the deck of a cruise ship on an Alaska cruise looking over the coastline on a warm beautiful sunny day. That was perfection too, felt so alive!
