Disappearing comments
I don’t know if it was just a fluke, but when I went in to edit correct a typo on a comment in todays video post, all the text disappeared after I submitted my corrections.
Thanks for all the work enhancing this website, love the new look and feel, and the new features. 🙂

I had a similar experience. A few minutes after I posted my comment, the text of all five of the comments that had been posted up to that point disappeared, although the names are still there. It may be that I’m the only one seeing this, because someone gave my missing comment a thumbs-up. And Jung, I’m seeing your comments in their entirety.

Hi Rudolf. In the Nowhere Man comments section, the first time when I edited my comments, all the original comments disappeared and the post was just empty with no words. Doing a change or add seems to have overwritten everything that was there. I deleted my empty post, and reposted a new comment, but then a few days later I noticed my comments and many other peoples comment text disappeared. My post is there, but missing the comment text.
Just now I posted another new comment, and then went back and did an edit, and this time it’s OK. My comments are all intact, so it seems OK now. The problem I experienced is not happening again, but everyone’s original comments are still missing in their posts though. Thanks. -
Rudolf. I stand corrected, the problem persists. In the time I commented here, that new post that I edited and said was OK, the comments have now disappeared. Here is a screenshot. The comments disappeared after 14 minutes.

The link and the reply features are still functional for me, but the comments themselves (just the first five) are not visible on the page.

Seems like that happened only on the Nowhere Man post. Did you see that problem also on other posts? We’re still digging for your comments in the database. They must be somewhere.

It looks like the Nowhere Man post is the only one where the comments are nowhere, man.

Did you see your comments after posting and did they disappear later or were you not able to post them at all?

Hi Rudolf, yes it seems the problem is with the Nowhere Man post only, and my comments disappeared after 14 minutes.
In the most recent example I posted a new comment, then edited it, and it was OK, and then it disappeared later after 14 minutes. Interestingly some other peoples comments did not disappear. Very strange isolated problem. Looks like some kind of gremlin lurking in this page. 🙂

I had the same experience.
A post i made to the SugarMan thread disappeared.
I though i forgot to click submit.
I just checked – my 2nd post is there.Keep fighting Herr Webmeister !

Thomas, it looks like your first post was a reply to someone else’s post, which you have to click on to be able to see.

Hi Rudolf, on the latest “Restoring Our New Old Accordion” post when I did an edit on my comment post, a few minutes later the comments disappeared again. Fortunately I copied my comments on the clipboard and was able to repost my comment, but the disappearing comments seem to persist when you edit something.

I’ve been away for a while so just catching up.
I posted in the pallet thread then edited the post to add an extra sentence, and after a minute or so the comments had disappeared.
I’m sure you’re already working on this but thought I’d let you know. It’s times like this when you understand why they pay you the big bucks 🙂
