Jim Croce
Not sure why this just dawned on me, but I think Jim Croce’s music would suit MLT’s style perfectly. So many deep, meaningful songs, and lots of fun tunes, too. I get a strong mental image of the twins covering an acoustic duo session of “Operator”, but think many of his writings would be incredible interpreted by the twins. The only drawback being less time devoted to new MLT originals. What do the rest of you think?

Absolutely! Even some of his fun, frivolous ones like “Roller Derby Queen” and “Car Wash Blues”, etc. I can dream, but I won’t bother suggesting any to them directly, as they’re VERY busy young ladies and do an incredible job creating originals and covering songs that move them personally.

Excellent, yes Jim Croce would be a good choice for Mona and Lisa. His music was huge in the early 70’s. I feel his music was a spill over from the 60’s. I love the early 70’s music myself.-

I agree about “I got a name” but with everything that they’ve got going on (and the incredibly long list of requests for cover songs) I think I’ll just wait and see what they come up with.

For sure, Micheal! They do such a superb job, I won’t bother them with requests, but I can dream. If only there were multiple sets of Monas and Lisas, so they could delegate different jobs to their doppelgangers! Dreaming again…..

They are working on a set of originals.*IF* they EVER get around to wondering what do we do next …

I had a lady friend who i think was in love w/ Croce, she was really broke up when he died.-
My sister, too mourned his passing as if he were a close friend. I was quite young then, but began enjoying his music later in life.

Jeff, I think anything Jim Croce would be a great duo session choice for sure. He’s in the realm of a Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Donovan to me. Operator, Time in a Bottle, I Got a Name are great. Time In a Bottle is my favourite I would say.

Great choices, Jung. I also get a kick out of his jovial, jaunty tunes depending on my mood. I’m sure one thing we clubbers will agree on is whatever they produce will be awesome! Fun to talk about with you all, though!

Two of his best for sure, David! To be honest the list of songs the twins could make amazing is endless. I’m perfectly fine with giving them all the creative space they need to make more originals and covers that speak to them personally, though. Random songs and artists just come to me that immediately make me imagine Mona and Lisa performing them, and I enjoy discussing them with the club community!

Love me some Jim Croce! Him and Maury were awesome together. So many great songs, like “One less set of footsteps”.
