Mona and Lisa are such versatile musicians, and I’m so impressed how they will learn a new instrument when they need it for one of their songs. What true cottage industry pioneering musical artists to the core, very much like the Beatles. I can hardly wait to see the accordion make it’s appearance in a future video. Next to the many different guitars, the ukelele and blues harp are alternate instruments we’ve all had the privilege of seeing Mona and Lisa do their magic on.

So what are some of your favourite Mona Blues Harp Moments and Lisa Ukelele moments.
I will cheat a little here and post this absolutely wonderful Mozart moment on the Ukelele by Lisa that we all are mesmerized with.

My favourite Mona Blues Harp moment was an extremely tough choice between Best Years of Our Lives, and Pretty Flamingo. The winner for me is Pretty Flamingo because she added so much to that song. While Manfred Mann’s original with the flute is great, I think Mona’s Blues Harp takes it to another level.

My favourite Lisa Uke moment was also a very tough choice, but I have to give it to I Don’t Know Birds That Well. Lisa happily walking around the meadows with her Ukelele is an all time iconic Uke moment period for me. Lisa is the Queen or the Pied Piper of the Ukelele. Never thought a Uke could sound so good as when Lisa does her magic on it.

Good one, Jung. The Mr Soft solo is amazing. I have to go watch it again. I can’t watch it without smiling. Lisa’s smile is so contagious.

When you mentioned Uke, my first thought was I Don’t Know Birds Tha Well. Great minds…

My favorite for Mona’s blues harp is Both Sides Now. She is so subtle in some parts floating around Lisa’s voice. Of course, I can never discount The Best Years of Our Lives, pun intended. ????

Hi JP, I agree on how remarkable Mona’s Blues Harp is on Both Sides Now, so expressive like another voice. That one could easily be a favourite of mine for Mona’s Blues harp on another week.

I completely agree with you on that iconic scene from the Birds video, Jung. (I think I even mentioned it the forum once.) And the beginning, where Lisa reaches around and picks up the ukulele and starts strumming it, was the moment when I said to myself, “I want to be able to do that”, and bought a uke and learned (sort of) to play it.

As for the harmonica award, I’d have to give the nod to Won’t You Listen Now. Those short bursts really round out the sound of the song and give it a unique mood that helps it to carve out its own identity on that album.

David, how wonderful when MLT inspires us to pickup an instrument and create music. Watching Lisa doing the Mr Soft solo on the Uke, I want to pickup the Uke too! Mona’s great on Won’t You Listen now with the harmonica. Provides some nice flourish to the song.

Another stand out moment with Lisa on the Uke is Daydream.

Both wonderful with the guitar and ukelele here.

    No hands.
This might be my favorite harmonica song.

Thomas, this one is absolutely beautiful, so masterfully executed by both Mona and Lisa. Mona certainly shines here with her beautiful harmonica playing, singing, guitaring, and keeping rhythm on the Wazinator all at the same time, all so wonderfully! It takes incredible musical faculty to be able to do that. Master musicians indeed!

My favorite Harp part is The Best Days of our Lives, my god Mona does such a great job on this song and Lisa’s guitar picking is so awesome. I listen to this song at least once a day. So powerful and true to their talent.
