Rusty Young RIP
Posted by Michael Rife on 16/04/2021 at 02:35Hi all;
Rusty Young of Poco passed away today. Poco was one of the groups to begin the country-rock genre in the US. I have been to several of their shows and got to talk with Rusty over the years at various places. He truly was one of the nice guys in music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjzscuZa5UY

Thanks Michael,
Spellbound, Ghost Town, Thunder Road, Crazy Love, Rose of Cimarron, and so many more.
Of course Furay wrote Good Feeling to Know, but i saw a few really nice live versions after Furay over the years.Here is their induction into the Colorado Music HOF in 2009.

Hi Thomas;
You mentioned all of the classic Rusty songs. Also, the HOF induction was in 2015 but not a major problem. We have been trying to get them in the RnR HOF but it is a long shot. My favorite is Rose….. Mike.

I was wrong about the year. Thanks
Who better to cover Rose of Cimarron than Emmylou ?
-
I finally found their live version from that live CD/DVD from 2004.
Ritchie & George Grantham before his stroke. -
Crazy Love is a beautiful song and performance there Mike. Sad to hear of Rusty’s passing. I also remember In The Heart Of The Night.
-
RIP Rusy and yes Jung his work on In the Heat of the night is pure perfection!

I already posted this but as long as this is about Poco – here is Ritchie Furay’s band.
His Pedal Steel player can’ hold a candle to Rusty but there are some great vocals w/ Tim Schmidt. -
That was a great performance Thomas, can feel the energy and the audience really go into it.

Sorry to hear of Rusty’s passing. He gave us some beautiful songs
Crazy Love is one of the classics that we’ll be listening to forever.
I love the lyrics
