I think to the MonaLisa Twins impressive credentials, we need to add room for a few more descriptors!

“Singer Songwriters Extraordinaire and Courageous Superb Long Distance Marathoners!”

As I watched the 47K 7 Hours VLOG for the umpteenth time (lost count) I realized this isn’t just a VLOG but a work of art just like every single MLT song and video! They took us on an incredible emotional and dramatic journey of their marathon experience, just like their music does. From the practice runs leading up to the marathon, and the Olympian courageous triumph of completing a grueling 47K marathon through the mountains, it was an incredibly moving account. I think I can say for all of us, our spirits soured with them, and felt the aches and pains Mona and Lisa felt, and all the raw emotions and the tearful joy we could see in Mona’s face as they crossed the finish line and that heart warming embrace Lisa gave Mona at the end, and Lisa’s emotional release in the car as she exclaimed “who runs for 7 hours straight!!!!!”. That is why this VLOG is a work of art just like their music and videos, they enabled us to feel the emotions they did, and what greater achievement for artists than that.

As the great Beethoven said, music (art) takes you into the mental state of the composer! Mona and Lisa did exactly that, and in spades, with this VLOG, showing us what it means and feels like to be a Courageous Superb Long Distance Marathoner, from the months of training to the road trip and camping adventure to the triumphant accomplishment of a marathon for the first time. It was just all so incredibly moving!!!

Thanks Mona and Lisa for this artistic and joyful gift, and sharing one of your life memorable bucket list moments with us! 🙂

    True remarkable artists!

How did this make you all feel?

My ankles are hurting just watching them jog over rough terrain and wet rocks.

I guess great agility can be artistic.

It’s been quiet out there in MLTC land. I hope everyone is doing well.

Here on the left coast it’s inferno season again. Stay safe.

Hi Thomas, hope you are doing OK and keeping safe. I think your area is right in the thick of things with the heat dome and fire hazard situation of the entire west coast.

In my area luckily the massive heat dome that is scorching Washington and Oregon in the PNW has missed us and temps are in the mid 20s so far (relief from the low 40s a couple weeks ago), but it left the forests up here tinder dry. Was just talking with my best friend who lives just south of Kamloops BC, and there was a massive fire covering a huge area and his little town was right on the edge. He and all the neighbours had their cars loaded in the drive way ready to flee at a moments notice. Was talking with him and it was hairy when your house and livelihood is at the mercy of the winds. So far so good and the courageous fire fighters got the fires under control (1 helicopter and 5 fireman in his town). At least with internet and technology these days the local emergency info centers have awesome interactive maps through which you can monitor fires nearby in almost real time and keep an eye open on the evacuation alert notices. Was emailing my friend daily reports from the website last week.

You are right Jung. This flows so well from beginning to end. We have to add Film Maker to their resume. I could not help think it was as if they mapped out the video ahead of the event. As Lisa and Mona check their time and pulse at each mark, it’s as if they also check their production notes for camera and lighting settings. Running a marathon is huge challenge, then add the elevation, thin air, and carry cameras! It really feels like there was a documentary crew accompanying Team MLT. Camera crew, lighting crew, wardrobe, catering, transportation, editing, nah, Lisa and Mona can cover all of that.

This VLOG carries the viewer from beginning to end. And what an ending it was. The film makers really captured the runner’s highs and lows as they carried on through the course. The added graphics brought it all together. Mapping out the course was a great display of just how treacherous this marathon is. The terrain was a lot rougher than I thought it would be. I worry about injuries. Perhaps some bubble wrap gloves?

I agree, Jung. This VLOG is a true work of art. The soundtrack is perfect. The music matched the video just right.

Where the shadows run from themselves????

‘“Who runs for seven hours straight?!” Lisa and Mona do, that’s who. The girls’ support of each other is truly inspirational.

    I hope Mona got a t-shirt. ????

Hi JP. Well said, agree with everything you said. Their videography and story telling and writing excellence that can just capture your attention and move you and inspire I think is an extension of their music and art. This latest VLOG is BBC and DW network documentary worthy.

I hope Mona and Lisa got themselves a darn good t-shirt for all that! 🙂

I never thought i would say this but i miss east coast humidity.

I am very jealous of the Twins jogging through fog in Wales.

    I hope everyone stays well.

I made one other great discovery in this VLOG. As “White Room” was playing, I did not remember hearing it before. How could that be? Don’t I have them all? Why don’t I have Volume 3? Embarrassed and elated. I feel like I have discovered a new MLT Gem! Where have I been for the last year? Immersed in everything else MLT. (LOL My spell predict now includes MLT as soon as I click an uppercase M. There it is again MLT ????)

I now have a new album to listen to in my car. How did I miss this? ‘White Room” is flipping awesome. Their voices sound so kool and the Wah-wah is mind blowing. And I love Mona “Baker”on the drums. I am sure Eric, Jack and Ginger would like this. The whole album sounds incredible.

These truly are The Best Years of Our Lives. This song is one of my favorite covers. I had Volume 3 cranked up on my commute today. Wish my volume went to eleven.

‘If I Fell” is playing now and I feel like I am falling in love with the MonaLisa Twins all over again. Their voices are so magical.

Bravo Ladies! Looking for fun and feeling groovy????

      Hi JP,

I thought the same thing about ‘White Room’. I was blown away by this “new” cover. Then I looked at the juke box. WOW!!! This is better than the original. The vocals and guitars are incredible!!

      Take care,

      Diana

      Hi Diana,

I love discovering these gems. I have been paying more attention to their originals, so I guess that’s my excuse for missing out on Volume 3. Until now, that is. Volume 3 has been on replay for a couple of days.

White Room is kick ass! I love the vocals. It was a perfect fit for the Marathon VLOG. And I know I have said it before, but I can not get enough of “The Best Years of Our Lives”. pun intended I think I have to see a doctor. These Dad jokes are getting to be too much.

Seriously though, I love that song. I like how their voices rise and fall to a whisper and waltz. Don’t you love how they switch to the waltz tempo for a couple of beats? Every song sounds great. I think the audio quality of these albums is out of this world.

      Have a great weekend!

      Stay groovy,

      JP

JP, oh yeah some of my favourite MLT covers are on that Volume 3! You Really Got Me, Best Years of Our Lives, White Room, Time of the Season, Hey Bulldog! Well it’s great then that you saved this album until now, you’ve got a new album to discover new, and it’s very awesome.

By the way, at the end of Glass Onion, can you tell what they are saying? You have to listen to that very carefully, even backwards. A secret. The answer is in one of the posts going back to 2018. 🙂

Also have to agree, the music soundtrack on the VLOG was great. Perfection. Club 27, In It For Love, White Room…

Thomas, when I first saw those foggy misty photos of the marathon, it looked so refreshing and wonderful. I certainly would rather have that than the inferno we are having here. Interesting how perspective works.

I am intrigued. Thanks for the spoiler alert about Glass Onion. I am going to try playing it backwards before I look it up. ????
