Topic subscriptions
There really needs to be a way to turn off emails for a particular discussion. Currently the only way to stop emails every time someone posts in a discussion is either to unsubscribe from the entire forum, or uncheck “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” and then actually post something. Neither is acceptable. Which means the only solution going forward is never to check that box and just miss out.

You are right. I have enabled the “subscribe to forums and topics” function in the backend but it doesn’t seem to appear anywhere on the frontend. I’ll have a look at it.

After doing some testing I now know where the problem comes from. it is our WordPress theme. There should be two buttons on the page of a single topic for favourite and subscribe. They simply don’t appear when I switch to our theme on a test page. I opened a ticket with their support and hopefully they will fix it soon.

By the way, thanks for reporting this, Roger. It’s one of the bugs that keep undetected until someone points them out. So in this case – It’s not a feature, it’s a bug 😉

Wow. Thanks Rudy! I’m glad you were able to figure it out even though it will take WP to fix it. Probably something as simple as a CSS element set to display:none or something silly like that. Cheers!

Looks like they fixed it now. You can now see the favourite/subscribe (unsubscribe) links at the top of every topic.
