2020, Year of Honesty
As the global pandemic is declared over and things have been returning to normal, it made me reflect on the last 3 years.
I’ve heard the expression before, a person’s true colour comes out during a moment of crisis.
I think for the world, 2020 was a year of honesty as crisis after crisis surfaced. We saw the good and the ugly in the world shine, as the events of the global pandemic served as the great equalizer. Peoples true colours shone, sometimes in a very ugly and cowardly way unfortunately, and in some in the form of amazing courage and grace.
MLT’s album WHY? really expresses for me the last three years and the present, shining a light on the issues in the world that arose. A brilliant poetic musical masterpiece that makes you question the status quo and ask why? is the world like this. Why does the world not learn from the lessons of history. There are also moments of amazing beauty and grace in the album that also reflects the humanity and goodness in people’s hearts that often shined in the darkness. I am just endlessly impressed with Mona and Lisa, such insightful, inspired, and brilliant thinkers and artists to create an amazing album like WHY?

You are absolutely right Jung. My worry is I still see a mass of BS all around me every day in the so called “news”. ‘Why?’ asks so many questions, and we are not anywhere near out of this nonsense that surrounds us. This album is 3 people raising their heads and seeing and saying what a lot of us think. A superb work on many levels

I agree, great art expresses what we are feeling inside in ways we couldn’t express our self that is the magic, and that is exactly what WHY? does.
The deception and lies certainly continue, and the problem is the world has become increasingly desensitized. That is when terrible things can happen. People need to “raise their head”.
