I was watching the Catch The Wind duo session and realized I can play along with that. Once I got up to speed with the strumming, I turned up the volume and filled the room with the ladies’ beautiful voices. As I was getting into a groove I looked out my front window to see a half dozen hummingbirds around our feeders, a sly cat in the road watching the birds, and three deer with a fawn in the neighbor’s yard. Nice!

    It’s almost Friday

    Sweet indeed!

I catch myself singing along and/or grabbing one of my basses from time to time. No complaints about any of it. Totally relate. 🙂

Plenty of birds here too though not humming birds. The sly cat is mine and needs a good talking to….

Kangaroos galore and very occasionally, a deer.

    Life is good.😆

Maybe the animals were attracted by the magic of MLT music? 😀

I have no doubt that animals are attracted to certain kinds of music. My dog seems to like classical piano. I have not tried playing along with the Twins but I am working on a few of their songs!

    Hi JP,

Do you have a DAW that you import their MP3 into? I put any MP3’s I play along with into my DAW so I can record myself onto a separate track to see how well my guitar sounds with the music. It also is easier to stop and start or set up a loop if I have trouble learning a certain part of the song.

What kind of DAW do you have? Are you happy with it? I’ve just got an old one and thinking about a new one. Not looking very hard; I’m at the “think about it” stage.

I saw the Twins use Cubase the other day. Don’t remember where I saw that.

I have been using Cakewalk by Bandlab for 18 years. It has everything and is compatible with all plugins. It is free but going to be soon to be requiring purchase. I love it and have been happy with Cakewalk. I also use iZotope Ozone 10 other iZotope plugins for mastering.

Yes, I like to think I have a wild audience. Thanks Phil. I had to look up what a DAW is. I did get a looper pedal a while ago, but I have only tried it a couple of times. I’ve been in rut lately with my playing. Sometimes life gets in the way, but last night reminded me it’s like riding a bike.

If anyone ever considered getting a hummingbird feeder, do it. We started putting a couple out five years ago. For the first couple of years we would just see a few. The last couple of years we usually see six or seven at a time, but it seems constant. Their chirping, which sounds similar to dolphins, has become like white noise to us. The cats pay little attention to them. It seems like they are just used to the noise. It’s pretty kool watching the hummingbirds up close. Last year one showed up early and just hovered in front of our window for a bit. It was very surreal. I felt like I was going to get in trouble if I didn’t put a feeder out right away, which I did immediately. I saw a documentary where the researchers tagged some hummingbirds to prove the same birds returned to the same feeders each year. It’s pretty amazing considering the distance they migrate from. Uh-oh! I just heard that little voice in my head,”If you spent as much time practicing guitar as you do obsessing over those birds,…and while you’re at it, can we get a little more cow bell. We can always use more cowbell?” and that dang looper pedal is mocking me

    Have a great weekend everybody,

    JP

p.s. just use plain sugar water one part sugar four to five parts water

Nice JP! It must have felt so good playing along to MLT. I am envisioning in your living room, your cats seated too in the audience, indulging in you guitar work. 😜

You got it. The cats seem to like anything I play and they never point out mistakes. Although, sometimes they give off a very judgemental vibe with their disinterested poses. I think if they could speak they would say,”What? Wish You Were Here again? Play that wind song instead.”
