I’m a wanna be author hoping to one day get something published even if I have to self-publish.  Right now I can’t afford it.  But today I was browsing through the last story I completed back in August called The Yellow Finch and I made two references to an MLT original.  I guess it shows just how much they affect me.  Here’s the first reference.

The next day, Wednesday, Melody awoke from a restless sleep.  She remembered dreaming about birds and one of them was a yellow finch.  In her dream a song ran through her head by two Austrian twins named Mona and Lisa singing about how they didn’t know birds that well.  Well Melody didn’t know birds at all but the yellow finch kept telling her to trust her instincts.

    And the second.

Then the finch flew off of Melody’s finger and perched itself back on a branch in the dogwood tree. Melody thought about that song that came to her in a dream by those twins from Austria not knowing birds that well and she wondered how they would have changed their song if they could see what was occurring right at this moment.

I would hope the twins wouldn’t mind the reference.

    Great writing, Steve!

Hey, I mentioned this to Jacki earlier so I’ll mention it to you as well:

You can publish everything you’ve written free of charge via Kindle Direct Publishing

I published a book in 2017 and it worked out very well for me. You send your manuscript to them via their website digitally, upload the cover you want to use and they print your book as it’s purchased. They send it to the customer and it’s all done through Amazon. For a 200 page book like mine, there’s a $4.00 or so charge that comes right off the top, and then you get 70% after that. When I came across KDP, I was looking at more than $1000 to publish about 90 copies so it was a godsend to come across it on Google. To be able to publish my book at no cost was a dream come true.

I apologize for pushing KDP but I’m doing it in an attempt to be of service to my friends here. I assure you, there is no self interest involved.

If you have any questions, I’ll be glad to answer them. Whatever route you take, sign me up for a copy. I look forward to reading it.

    Tim
