What are your thoughts about each originals. Your favorite verses, riffs; is it a simply an album filler or what makes this song memorable to you.

This week, let’s start with “In It For Love” as it’s the one they played in their last show.

That song reminds me of some of the old “torch songs” of the 1930s and 40s.  I love the bluesy guitar riffs in it.

In It for Love is a very charming song, with a wonderful guitar lead in and delightful guitar sounds throughout that I love, and Lisa’s singing is so warm and colorful.  “In it for Love” is a great lovely song with a 60’s inspired sound and very modern as well.  In the beautiful harmony at the end it reminds me slightly of a Herman’s Hermit classic “I’m Into Something Good”.  I recall in one of the interviews right after Orange was released Lisa mentioned it was one of her favorite songs on the album.

For me “Sweet Lorraine” really stand out from Orange.  It has a really powerful and irresistible chorus making for a really universally appealing song I think.  Mona’s lead vocal, Lisa’s rich guitar sounds, awesome harmonies, just delightful!!!  Some songs that come to mind with similar powerful appeal for me are signature songs like “Satisfaction”, “My Generation”, “Surfin USA”, “Crocodile Rock”…that no matter what your musical taste, is hard to resist when that comes on at a concert or party.   With the build up to horns and childrens choir sound in the end, it also has a sophisticated feel like Beatles Penny Lane.  One of my favourite MonaLisa Twins originals among many.

I never gave it a special attention before the twins interview with Robert Rodriguez.

They talked about their love for music, their trip to California and how growing was different for them as they were one of the few who actually listen to 6os Rock and Roll and then played it.

I’m out of fashion, I’m out of style.

I’m out of my mind, I’d say almost a mile.

But I’m still into something good. I’m in it for love.

That’s the reason this one will stuck in my memory.

I’m with you, Claude. I was surprised they specifically mentioned In It For Love as their favorite track on Orange. It made me listen to it with more care and while it isn’t my favorite track, it’s pretty darn good1

Your jumping the gun slightly Jung. I think Claude’s intention was to discuss one song per week.

Personally I don’t think there is any filler on either of the Twins original albums. They are all memorable in their own way!

I love all their originals for a variety of reasons, the lyrics, instrumentation, etc. They all speak to me poetically 😉

Yes apologies for jumping the gun Claude.  Should have read your post more carefully.
