    Hi all;

    The other week Peter Asher on his weekly Sirius Radio Program entitled “From Me to You” was going through the alphabet concerning the Beatles…..from A to Z (or Zed, as he says it).  Anyway he was on the letter D and played Drive My Car by the Beatles and then played the same song by the cast of Glee.  Instrumentally the two (Beatles and Glee) were the same but he said that the Glee version struck him as being off and he couldn’t place it.  Then he requested listeners to email him about their thoughts on the two versions.  I emailed him with my thoughts on the two versions (my opinion = not important).  Then I said if he wanted to hear a good cover, he should listen to the MonaLisa Twins version and I provided a link to the YouTube of MLT’s Drive My Car.  Then he answer below (I copied his email response):

    Asher, Peter (Peter.Asher@siriusxm.com)

    To:you Details

    Thanks.  Interesting.  Yes, I love the Mona Lisa Twins and have heard most of their excellent covers.  I shall certainly continue to play them from time to time.

    Me again:  He has played MLT before…..I think it was I’ll Be Back about a year or so ago.  So, we’ll see what he will do.  When he does play MLT, it will cover North America and will be on a total of five times during the week…….coast to coast and from very cold to very warm!!  Here’s hoping for the best.

    Hi Jacki;

    Him responding to me is not that big of a deal to me.  He says he faithfully responds to all emails because well………he’s a good guy.  I’ve emailed him before because he is always asking for input to what he is playing on his program.  To me the big deal is that he would play MonaLisa Twins on his program.  That would cover the whole continent of North America and his show is repeated 5 times over a week.  His saying he is aware of MLT and loves their covers is huge to me.  It means more exposure over here for them and it is free exposure.

    Just for those who may not know he is Peter of Peter and Gordon (A World Without Love) and has at least one Grammy as a record producer.

    That’s great Mike that Peter is familiar with MLT covers and loves them.  Be sure to send him a link to the Little Drummer Boy video when it comes out.  Mona and Lisa’s harmony on that are sure to impress him.  Wouldnt it be nice to have MonaLisa Twins Little Drummer Boy on Sirius radio airwaves this Christmas.

      It would be great if Little Drummer Boy would be on Sirius.  Mike.

    Definitely good news, Michael!

    Yes, I believe Peter received a couple of Grammy Awards for his production work on Linda Ronstadt’s albums.  He also managed Linda’s and James Taylor’s careers for a time after a brief stint working for The Beatles at Apple.

    He’s a nice guy, as you say.  Very thoughtful and well-spoken.   And if he plays MLT on his show, it will definitely help to promote their work.
