So, I finally installed proper speakers on my living room ceiling, connected my turntable and we’re off to enjoying our vinyls again.

It’s interesting how with vinyl listening to music is sort of a ceremony. You don’t make a long playlist that runs in the background. Sit and listen to the whole side, and very soon you’re standing up to flip to the other side or place another one. And 45 singles, well, I just stand by it till it’s done! 😉

I was surprised though at the quality. Once I had a good system going, and excluding old worn records, the quality was just as good if not better than digital.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I agree, playing vinyl is very much ceremonial making the music listening experience a real pleasure.  I bought a simple record player just after I got my copy of Orange in vinyl, and now I prefer to listen to Orange on the record player whenever I can when I’m home.  My usual pleasure to start off the evening sometimes is to listen to one of my few vinyls I have: Orange, Rubber Soul, Sargent Peppers, To Sir With Love etc…
