Winter Wonderland
Posted by Jung Roe on 26/11/2019 at 09:10I always enjoyed the live video performance of this song from the Cavern, and now loving Winter Wonderland studio version off the album!
MLT’s Winter Wonderland is such a happy and beautiful song. The acoustic guitar leads off with such a cheerful tune that I can’t help but tap my feet to the beat and melody, and then those sweet beautiful harmonies and lyrics explodes so joyfully. It is so full of Christmas magic cheer, my spirit dances to the lovely melody. It’s hard not to fill with the warm feeling of Christmas spirit listening to this. Another stellar gem and favorite Christmas song of many from the Christmas album.Jung Roe replied 4 years, 11 months ago 3 Members · 7 Replies -

Indeed Jung… I agree… The MLT versions of Winter Wonderland…. It just radiates that festive Xmas Hearted Spirit that it’s meant to do, there’s not a whole slew of folks out there that can truly do this song justice but a rare few do, Happily MLT for me, have done just that… I, too, do hum and toe tap and even sing along with this, well the whole album,… Whether one can sing good or not, it offers an awesome Postive Festive Pick Me Upper Calibre, to be embraced and enjoyed by all… Let Your Music Ears smile with the glorious sounds that Eminate triumphly from the MLT Xmas CD?

I love every track on the album, but I have to say my favorite is “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. They really breathed life into that song and made it danceable!

Jacki, yes MLT are one of the very, very few in the upper echelon of music talent today who can do the kind magic with music they do breathing life back into them as David put it. In fact, MLT breathed Christmas back into my world with their music.
I agree David, MLT version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” is awesome, transforming it into an upbeat danceable gem.
While it seems Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmas Time” is not everyone’s cup of tea here, it is one of my fave Christmas tunes, and I love MLTs version much more than Paul’s! They definitely breathed life and whatever else was missing into it to make it a favorite for those who didn’t care for Paul’s version. There’s that MLT magic touch again!

Agreed about “Wonderful Christmastime”, Jung. Paul seemed to be going through an electronic music phase then. Sometimes it clicked, as with “Goodnight Tonight”, but it just doesn’t feel right when you augment jingle bells with synthesizers.

We don’t have snow yet where I am, but it’s starting to freeze and feel more and more like a Winter Wonderland, especially with the Christmas lights going up everywhere in the city now. It’s going to be ripe in a few days for the world to receive MLT’s “All I Want Christmas To Be” video!!!
Here is a picture the lights that just went up yesterday when I went for a walk around the park near where I live.
Cell phone camera photos just don’t do justice to this scene, but hope you get the idea.

Hi Jung… Lovely photo… This reminds me of the happy memories I have of my late parents, when we used to go Xmas Lights Neighborhoods Driving Around Tour on around the area in Ottawa…. Mind you, it was prettier and more effective and stunning when snow was on ground to capture the essences /reflections from the lights. We just had a single long strand running across above the garage door at home.
There are 2 big Xmas Lights Extravaganzas places to drive/walk ariyngmd/through to see lights: locally here at Wesley Clover Parks (Equestrian Park), and outside Ottawa area at Upper Canada Village. (I’ve been to UCV for their Halloween version, it was spectacular but for Xmas version, it is too cold for me to walk around there, even when dressed weather appropriately, it’s open field, and the winds can blow, in open fields…. But also, I’ve never been to Wesley Clover Park either at anytime, because the city transit bus does not go there, I need to get a drive to both there and to UCV.) I’ve seen both featured on local TV news, and if can go, highly reccomend it.

Hi Jacki. Yes me too, many fond memories of being driven around in the car with my parents looking at Christmas lights. Later, on Christmas eve when it is really late I’d sometimes go walking around the neighborhood looking at the lights. It’s really peaceful and quite at that time, and it felt really special. Even better on rare occasions when there was snow.
