Well… It has begun… The big ugly Snow Storm of this Winter has come upon my area, Bowling is canceled, they say we could get up to 50 cm ( on me that would come up to about my waist)… Blowing Snow conditions, I grimace to see how much snow will be blown up against my  apt unit door come Thursday morning.

This will be our worst snowstorm this winter…. So… It makes complete logic and sense to enjoy tonight at home  with Tea or hot chocolate, homemade baked goodies, crank the MLT Xmas Tunes in my headphones from my phone…

Then watch next week for the 380 in weather and be up into the plus Temps of hovering around +10ish degrees celcius… It’s somewhat mild now  but a tad cool because it’s snowing… Winter Wonderland and Snow Falls Softly indeed here…. Later on tonight and overnight, most of tomorrow will be when the brunt of storm peaks at its ugliest…. Yuck, #fedupwithwinteralready #CmonSpringAndSummerComeSoon

I always liked those snowed in days.  Just cozy up with your favorite things and watch those flakes come down.  MLT Christmas album on those days will be perfection.  Enjoy your snowed in day Jacki!  More baked cookies? ?

Wow! That’s a lot of snow. Calls for a lot of hot chocolate! And, a lot of MLT ????! I hope you aren’t snowed in too long.

Clear out a path way. Make some snow bowling pins, and a snow bowling ball.  And, have at it!

Best wishes for getting through this storm! Stay Groovy! ?

And Good Morning… Yeppers we apparently had bouts of freezing rain overnight then it reverted back to lovely heavy duty snow storm snow falling…. Snow Bowling…Lol… That should of been happening at the Winterlude Festival that we just finished having over a period of 3 Wknds, weather wasn’t always exactly to my liking to go….

Now the Rideau Canal has officially closed its skating season.. Warm mild weather to blame. I no longer skate, never was good, haven’t skated since Highschool on a schooltrip to canal, eons ago…. And yes, I enjoyed having homemade chocolate-choco chip muffin and Hot Chocolate, with MLT Xmas and other MLT tunes cranked in my earphones from CDs, to help pass time during SnowStorm Insanity…. You ‘d think being born/raised in Canada that I’ d enjoy winter…. Nope, never was a fan, even as a kid, the moment I felt frozen or bigger kids were cruel and pushed me down an ice slide, losing/breaking my glasses and getting snowface washes, not my idea to enjoy about winter…. It looks pretty on trees, etc, and for Xmas Day, then it can go right back to being Spring/Summer…

Our Big Ice Storm of 1998…. The breathtaking beauty of crystallized ice on things made for pretty photos but the actual storm and its damages and loss of power for many, not so pretty…

I’m not fond of having to stay in due to severe weather, I get cabin fever…. Lol but with MLT Music, yummy homemade treats, hot chocolate and tea, I’m good?

Okay, Jacki, you’ve got me intrigued.  You said “never was a Dan”.  Is that Canadian slang of some sort?

I hope the snacks and hot chocolate are holding out.

Oops, never mind.  I see you just corrected it to “fan”.  But I may use the expression anyway; its seems appropriate.

Lol… It was a simple typo error on my part.. Actually it sounded stupid with “Dan”… The proper “fan”, more appropriate… Lol… Besides, I have to type without my glasses on using my phone, can’t type with them on, bugs me, I’m in need soon of new glasses prescription I think. I do have on-going eye glaucoma type issues so I do/may legitimately make typo errors… But what intrigues me is, how you found my typo error funny to want to use/share ?!… Not sure how the “Dan” part or any of it would be usable..  Lol… Please intrigue me with your idea  on this… I found it funny you thought it was some sort of vof Canadian slang, if so, it was new to me… I’m really only familiar with these Canadian slangers: ” Double – Double”, “Gidday-Eh”… etc…. You want to be further entertained by Canadian slang, I reccomend vwatching YouTube clips of Bob and Doug MacKenzie… Lol…  Air Farce stuff, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, The Beaverton, Red Green Show, Rick Mercer Report, etc… Lol….

And yes, Tea /Hot Chocolate, homemade baked treats, still going strong as are the MLT tunes cranked in my headphones… ??

    Hey, Jacki.

I’ll have to check out some of those sources you mentioned.  I am already quite familiar with Bob and Doug, though.  I wasn’t a regular viewer of their SCTV skits, but I was introduced to them via their “Great White North” album, and I’m a big fan of their “Strange Brew” movie.  (Fun fact:  Claude Elsinore was played by Paul Dooley, who was the first head writer for “The Electric Company”.)  I also enjoyed the movie “Canadian Bacon”, and of course Weird Al’s parody song “Canadian Idiot”.

As for the “Dan” thing, good question.  Dan just seems to me like the name of a stereotypical rugged Canadian outdoorsman.  Perhaps I was subconsciously influenced by this old TV memory:

Lol David, yes, checkout those other Canadian people I mentioned, Ah, John Candy, I miss him, he always played the best characters, from in SpaceBalls, Cool Man Running, Uncle Buck, Canadian Bacon, Planes, Trains, Automobiles, etc the  YouTube video clip you provided here and the tidbit of the Electric Company thing, very cool,  either I didn’t know or if I did, just didn’t recall…. The Dan thing… Lol… Yes, I can sort of see how it makes you think of  some lumber an or something… Lol… Inside City Hall downtown Ottawa, currently a small room has an exhibition of photos and a few items of local interest, one being about the Joe Guy that Stomping Tom sang about…. Lol and here’s a Canadian classic…  On local TV news the other day, some guy proposed to his girl in front of the Beavertails  Pastry shack in Byward Market after ordering their Beavertails, she said ‘Yes’… So Canadian like – – Eh???
