Ain’t No Sunshine – Bill Withers
Sad to hear of Bill Withers passing away today, a great loss to the music world! It reminded me of MLT’s wonderful cover of his classic song, Ain’t No Sunshine. This early video always stand out for me, as it showcases team MLTs incredible music talent: Lisa’s vocals, Mona’s drumming, Michaela’s Saxophone, and Rudolf’s keyboarding. Each so brilliant! We also see Lisa is great on the bass from very early on!

Bill Withers was such an amazing soulful singer and writer! Ain’t No Sunshine was one of my favorite radio sing-a-longs!  In fact… I usually find myself singing along when ever his stuff comes on! Very sad…

I’m definitely not a “soul man” (sorry, Sam & Dave), but I frequently find myself humming a certain song which always turns out to be “Lean On Me”.

There’s a newer, kinda funkier version of Lean On Me out there that has a reggae-ish flair to it but, in this case, the original is best…. Perhaps, until /maybe-if MLT would take a tackle on it, then, Theirs would be best version going??

As always, a very thorough analysis from Fil, in terms of both breadth and depth.
His merch should include a shirt that says “Let’s see how they get on” on the front, with “And there we have it” on the back.
