I’ve got to say that I was really impressed with your production of “Good Morning Starshine”. I say “production” because that’s what it truly was. So intricate and moving, it makes you feel like you are swooping through the air. Can you share some of the challenges behind the production?

And I know this is silly but I’d love to hear the story behind the photo of Mona driving all those groovy folks some place in that crazy convertible. Who are they (other than Lisa of course) and where on earth are you taking them?

Oh, that made me giggle! That’s Lisa’s Photoshop skills 😛 She just thought it would be funny to take a screenshot from the “Hair” movie (the scene where they sing that song) and virtually squeeze ourselves into the car with everyone else. Here is the original clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmZqb2VVc48

And thank you for the compliments! That song definitely was a bit of a challenge to make it work. It was easy for it to top over to the more cheesy side so we were trying out different arrangements to keep it fun but not too “sweet”. That’s what we came up with. LOTS of spacey harmonies and percussions, sparse guitar leads and harmonica. Oh and did we mention harmonies and percussion. Yeah loads of harmonies and percussion 🙂

LOL, Mona that is brilliant!  I thought that photo of the two of you in the convertible was a real photo of you both with some friends you snapped for the song!  Kudos to Lisa’s photoshop skills once more!  Your Starshine is absolutely wonderful!

Oh! That Lisa, up to her mischief and trickery again! She really got me (Kinks). I never saw the movie. I saw a stage production in San Francisco in 1969 during my last year of high school. Very controversial -but what wasn’t during the late sixties? I did like several of the songs though. Your production of Starshine leaves all the others in the dirt. It is so moving and it is because of your percussion and harmonies. No group, from the sixties until now has ever been better at it than MLT. You truly do shine!

Well picked Jacki. I also picked it but as it’s from my youth, that’s to be expected, not so much from a spring chicken like you. Lisa showing us just how multi-skilled she is. ?❤️

Lol… Go on Howard with the “Spring Chicken” reference towards me… I’m a tad younger than you but let’s not stretch it too far… Lol…. You’re only young as as you feel…. Yes, I’m in my 50s, though I don’t look it and am short in height to boot too…. Blame my Mom’s side for those physical inherited traits…. It ‘s both a blessing/curse with me…. But I’ m taking Howard’s quip as a tease…. Made my day…. Thanks Howard… Perhaps I can be a spokesperson for anti-aging cream… I have that youthful glow…. Lol

I agree you’re as young as you feel. Unfortunately I feel like I’m about 90 right now! Maybe when this stuff all ends I’ll feel like a 50ish year old kid again!

Watching that clip that Mona linked to the “Good Morning Starshine” scene from the movie Hair… that is none other than Beverly DeAngelo herself singing it!  I prefer the MLT version…

When I listen to the MLT version of Good Morning Starshine, it sounds a bright and soaring as I recall the original.  Then when I go back and re-listen to the original, its not nearly as bright and soaring as I remember it.  I think Team MLT did an amazing job of covering it the way it should have been done in the first place.  I laugh though.  Of all the songs from Hair to cover, I would have thought of “Age of Aquarius” or the title track “Hair” as more obvious choices.  For me, part of the joy of this is that it’s so far out of left-field and yet it’s so right.

OK, now that’s pretty funny…  I just posted and accidentally double clicked.  I got a warning message that said, “Slow down, you move to fast…”  I’ve never seen warning messages quite so context sensitive.

In this household, Kristi was the one who picked up on the photo shop.  I think it might have been after I said that I thought that usually Lisa drives.  I think I remember hearing that said…, anyway… a quick Google and we caught the connection to the movie segment.  I’m sort of embarrassed to say I don’t think I’ve ever sat through the whole movie.
