In the Ask the MLT Forum, I love hearing Mona or Lisa talking about their musicianship, music, and craft.  In that vein, here are some great musicians talking their craft.

Here Angus Young (lead guitarist of AC DC) talk about his guitar idols and his guitar:

What a personable and pleasant fellow.

In this video Tommy Emmanuel talks about his guitars and setup.  It’s a real informative discussion interesting for even newbie musicians.  It’s pretty inspiring to hear a great master guitarist like Tommy Emmanuel talk his craft and how he does his magic.

Tommy always has two Maton EBG 808 guitars in rosewood cut from the same tree with him on the road to back each other up in case he has a string break during performance.  Over the years he’s worn down guitars doing percussion on it to the point where his fingers went right through the body, and had to tape the guitar up to keep it from falling apart.  He also used the same single guitar pick for 10 years until it wore down because it had just the right feel for him.  Apparently Tommy has hearing problems since he was born and has trouble hearing voices, but can hear guitar sounds fine.  His greatest guitar influences are Chet Akins, James Taylor, and Gordon Lightfoot.

Very interesting, informative, and I enjoy how each of them have their approaches that suits them, if it ain’t  broke, don’t go messing with it,  but sometimes an unexpected error, can transform into a positive…
