Baby’s In Black – New Beatles Cover

We’re bringing you a stripped-back 2-guitars & 2-vocals version of “Baby’s In Black”. Originally recorded for the MLT Club, we thought we’d now share it with our wider audience, too.

The tune is once again one of those perfect little Beatles songs drenched in melody and harmonies, ideal for a Duo Session in a corner of our studio. Sprinkle John Lennon’s somewhat dark, cheeky, rude, charming, cute (… what are they!?) lyrics on top and you get “Baby’s In Black”.

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Baby’s in Black is a typical Beatles song & delivered in such a cheeky manner. It’s great! You really nailed it with your version. It rocks!! Carry on rocking girls xx

  2. Hi girls, Yet again, another lovely production of a favourite song. Love it. Keep rockin’ x

  3. i sincerely believe that Buddy Holly would have covered this tune, had he not been in that airplane.

  4. When I heard your rendition of Till There Was You, it brought back a ton of memories. I’m a 66 retired male and I grew up listening to the Beatles and they have been my favorite band forever. I listened to the 3 songs you sent me and I was really impressed with your talent and songwriting. I love all kinds of music from Tony Bennet to the band 5 finger Death punch. But the beatles are and will be my most loved band of all time. I wish you great success and I will continue to listen to your fine music

  5. Nice. But you need to nail John’s vocal line!

It’s not the same. But your voices would reflect the two line well…

  6. I lived through the 60’s and 70’s as a teen & twenty. Your postings reminded me what fun music was back then and I’ve been encouraged to revisit my own past music heritage. I keep hoping to see you live, somewhere down south. Wish I”d EVER had your talent.

  7. Love to watch/hear these two..Pure and pretty.

  18. Perfect as always….great harmony and guitar fills…Please do “Yes It Is”

  19. Muchas gracias. Preciosa versión de la canción de los Beatles, como todas las que haceis.

  20. Nobody can do a Beatles song justice like you can Mona and Lisa. Brilliant harmonies, love it! It has your special touch that make it worth listening to over and over.

  21. Da schau einer an! Ein Beatles-Cover!!!! Eigentlich hatte ich noch ein Weihnachtslied erwartet.
Egal!

  22. Black is beautiful but don’t be so blue.

  24. A Brilliant version of a Beatles classic

  25. The girls are awesome, the harmonies are perfect and the groove it’s there.
    I loved it!

  26. Stellar rendition… You’ve managed to put some Oomph to brighten up the Black in this… Luv it… A great one to hum along to while out n about enjoy a cup of tea…. Thankyou for sharing and now more folks shall embrace… Kudos, well done???????✌️?????❤️???????️??

  27. When it was first released, I thought it was an odd song for them to do. It sounded a little darker than most Beatles songs…..this one and Yes It Is I kinda lump together as their darker ones. You two do a great job on it……..it sounds like the Paul and John harmonies are very hard to do. But, you two own it!! Mike.

    1. There’s nothing dark about those songs..they’re simply rock&roll ballads.

  28. LOVE it!

  29. What positive energy in this cover! Listening to the track , like many other covers performed by the MonaLisa Twins, produces something so many contemporary artists just can’t deliver: a song with a catching melody that makes you feel GOOD and has you singing along with them. This duo never ceases nor fails to make me feel happy.

  30. Wow! Fantastic
