Junk – New Video

“Junk” by Paul McCartney …

When we first heard this song, it took our breath away. It’s Paul McCartney at his best. The melody, the chord progression, the subject matter, the way he manages to sing about something so deep in an incredibly light, moving and poetic way. It is one of those perfect songs.

We were hesitant to give it a go. It’s hard to compete with perfection. But then, what we do has never been about “improving” on any of the songs we cover. We pick songs because we love them, because we want to honour them and to experience performing and interpreting them ourselves. We like tapping into the magic of these songs and the people that created them.

We hope you enjoy this Duo Session as our Christmas present this year.

Reacting To Our First Music Videos (15 YEARS LATER 😁)


Taking a trip down memory lane …

Over at the MLT Club we are currently posting daily reaction videos leading up to Christmas as part of the annual Advent Calendar – a tradition we have established at the MLT Club over the last 4 years.

Today we watched and reacted to some of our very first YouTube videos! We wanted to make the video available outside the MLT Club as well to give everyone on YouTube an idea of the antics we are currently getting up to in the Club and to join the fun for a day. 🙂

We loved revisiting some of our oldest YouTube videos and seeing our 13-year-old selves again. We’ve come a long way since then and it’s beautiful for us to have this whole journey captured on YouTube to look back on.

Filming this made us feel incredibly nostalgic, slightly embarrassed but also terribly proud. Sometimes it is good to reflect on your beginnings and how far you’ve come since. Sometimes it’s also fun to poke fun at your past self a little bit.

We wrote a little tune for her and wanted her to be part of the recording. The fee negotiations were exhaustive, but she finally agreed to do some guest vocals on it, under the one condition that she could star in her very own music video. Who can say “no” to a cutie like her! So here it is! 🙂

The day we’ve been looking forward to and working towards for months, no, years has finally come! Our third original album is now officially released and we made a new music video for its opening track “Make Show” to share today.

Tired Of Waiting – New Video

Since this will be the last video we post before our new original album comes out we thought this tune to be quite fitting for the occasion 😉 

Where are the Rickenbacker fans at? We decided to go electric for this Kinks cover.

We Accidentally Adopted An Abandoned Wild Gosling …

Hi everyone,

Our upcoming album will get sent off to the pressing plant tomorrow! We can hardly believe that our third original album is finally in production, and we are confident that we’ll be able to announce the pre-release date in the next newsletter. Keep an eye on your inbox 🙂

In the meantime we thought we’d share this little feel-good story with you …

Today’s video is very different to what we usually post. If you’ve been following us on social media you might already know that we have been looking after a little orphaned Canada gosling earlier this year.

We filmed a lot of the experience and cut together a little mini documentary, initially only intended for the MLT Club where we post more personal and also music-unrelated things from time to time. Since the club members loved the story so much, we thought it’s worth sharing a version of it with everyone on our official YouTube channel, too.

Album Update & Donation Buttons!

We’re getting there …

We’ve been talking about our next original album for a long time now but these past months we’ve made a lot of progress on it and we’re currently working on the final two songs.

We’ve mapped out a realistic time plan which means we will be able to announce a release date soon!

With the album getting closer and closer to being done, more and more things are entering the production phase. We’re starting to look at album art designs, CD printing options, merch development, …

We also thought about a way to properly express our gratitude for those who went above and beyond this year to make this upcoming album possible.

While the MLT Club and album & merch sales are helping us to stay financially afloat on a day-to-day basis (thank you all!), it’s the incredible donations by some of you that help cover all the bigger costs that go into recording and producing a new record and everything that goes along with it.

The Kids Are Alright – New Video

They’re alright …

The Who. And that’s quite the understatement. They hold an incredibly special place in our hearts. Not only were they the first band the two of us went to see live on our own in Australia (during student exchange – a big adventure in our teenage years), their music has also been ingrained in our DNA from very early on. It makes up a big part of our life’s soundtrack.

When the legend himself, Pete Townshend, got in touch with us a few years ago, simply to write some encouraging words to us, it felt like a circle was closing and real life got elevated to some surreal fairy tale. ????

Now we hope you’ll enjoy our Duo Session of a song by one of our favourite bands, originally recorded for the MLT Club where you’ll find many more exclusive videos like this one.

Count On Me – New Video

No matter how many turns a river makes …

This song was initially written and recorded for our album ORANGE. It being a very “acoustic-y” song to begin with, it was the perfect candidate for a Duo Session. 

It’s about the thing that fundamentally keeps us going. The feeling of hope and meaning we derive from being there for one another, from helping each other for some sort of greater purpose. It’s about believing in life, believing in people, believing in yourself and in the journey you are on. Believing in the fact that things will work out.

Because as John Lennon once said: “Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”
