Who here has seen the movie Midnight Cowboy? 🤠 …
“Everybody’s Talking” is the opening track of our latest acoustic album The Duo Sessions II. The album (and all other music & merch) is still -25% until Cyber Monday!
We only recently learned that the original is actually by a singer called Fred Neil (it’s a great version!) but only Harry Nilsson’s version reached the billboard charts in 1969 at number 6, after his version was used for the soundtrack to the movie “Midnight Cowboy”.
What a cool song, we loved giving it a go, especially the acoustic guitar picking part!
Members of our MLT Club have had access to this video/song for a few months now so if you too would like to watch some of the still exclusive Duo Session videos and always get early access, you can join us here.
The Black Friday discount (-25%) works for your first month/year too!

That was fantastic
Beautiful cover of this song…. it was so nice to see as you were hitting that first real high harmony….You both got eye contact…. It’s a good thing Mona held her composure…. I think Lisa would’ve cracked up. That was so nice…. It just shows the relationship that you two have. You really enjoy what you do. And you choose to do it on your terms and your schedule. I’m sure there’s a lot of musicians that would love to be able to do that also. You both choose to “Make Show”🎶 🤓
I’ve loved you two immensely for years now, but to see that you enjoy Harry Nilsson tops it off. Not à lot of people are aware of the vast catalog of his work. Many artists sang Nilssons songs and many topped the charts. You ladies are too cool for school!! Very well done. Bye for now I got to put the lime in thee coconut and call the Dr. In thee morning. Butch
Oh! Today is my Birthday! Dang near forgot!
Mona & Lisa
Wonderful song and your singing was fantastic with great bass and guitar playing.
You are very talented keep on singing.
Good Luck
I was playing this in my car stereo today, which has better bass control, and the bass on this track is outstanding. Good job Mona. Of course the vocals are heavenly and Lisa’s guitar playing is incredible. The little chuckle makes me smile every time.
Absolutely beautiful again loved guitars spot on
I never really liked this song, and though I think y’all’s version is much, much better, I still don’t really like this song.
But have no fear! I didn’t like ALL of The Beatles’ songs, either, so there ‘ya go.
I watched Midnight Cowboy last night. I never knew what it was about. I only knew of it because of this song. I like how they used it throughout the film. It was interesting how we learned of the hero’s past through flashbacks and dreams. The imagery was a little hard to follow at first. I think another viewing may be worth it.
During the scene when he first arrives in NYC I was remembering the cars and the fashion of that era. I was six in 1971. I have no words for the hairstyles, mine included. I do remember those cars, though.
I‘ll have to give Ratzo another go sometime.

P.S. The wonderful smiles of Mona & Lisa brighten up even the cloudiest day.
Thank You.

Very nicely done. Beautiful. Better than Nilsson. You both look great and sound great.
Yes, I’ve seen Midnight Cowboy in 1969. It was the only X Rated film to win a Best Picture Oscar. Later the rating was changed to R.
It’s a very depressing and sad movie with great acting by Jon Voight & Dustin Hoffman. Although both were nominated, they lost out to John Wayne ( in True Grit) for the Best Actor Academy Award in 1970. Richard Burton and Peter O’Toole were also nominated.
Cheers,

Wow, I love your cover of “Everybody’s Talking” from the movie, Midnight Cowboy!! The melody on acoustic was very beautiful, and I loved the bass. Great musical arrangement and you both have never looked more lovely. You bring so much to the world of entertainment. Loved it.
Great job girls! I’ve always loved that song, haven’t heard many covers of it that came even close to Nilsson’s version, but you two nailed it. Really nice!
As always, another great cover.
Great cover, as usual ! 👏👏👏
Nice job ladies.
You never fail to put a fresh coat of paint on a classic.
I was going to mention the songwriter Fred Neil but Rich Marek beat me to it.
Neil was a Greenwich Village contemporary of John Sebastian.
Here they are in 1976. 4 minutes

Fred Neil was very influencing to a number of ’60s groups, including Jefferson Airplane’s Paul Kantner. Notice how he keeps including Neil’s name in song titles: The Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil, or Return to Pooneil Corner.
Top les filles ! Depuis longtemps
Harmonies are absolutely heavenly! No one sings with this kind of beauty any more. Lifts my spirits so high when I hear this. I’m so glad this song is on your new album. Your new Duo Sessions II album is amazing, love every song on it.
I totally agree with all of your comments. This is beauiful.
Nice….very Nice.🤓
Beautifully sung and played with sensitivity/
Thanks for sharing the moment
