I borrowed an interesting and cool library book to which I could envision Mona & Lisa & Rudi to play ( if not already )…The Reikenbacker and Gretsch types were mentioned…The one kind that caught my eye was a…HARPGUITAR…..????…

The name of book: ” The Guitar & Amp Sourcebook “- Mike Abbott…I don’t play guitar but the book was of interest to/for me????????????????☮️????????????❤️????????✌️????????

I’ve never heard of a harp guitar.  That sounds interesting .  But I think we all know the girls love their Rickenbacker/Gretsch guitar’s especially for there electric sounds … just recently on there ” i’ll follow the sun ”  video I noticed Lisa what’s playing what looked like an Epiphone Casino…  not sure .  But through the years when they use their acoustic guitars  I’ve seen different models ..  and not being a musician or even knowing how to play a guitar I’m sure that it all makes sense to them …

Harp guitars and other guitar-like instruments were popular in the 1920, the era in which the ukulele was almost as popular as the guitar.  Gibson made a lot of such instruments.  I have seen some modern ones, though, made by custom luthiers.

A couple of years ago I saw the Hollies live and the band included only two of the originals still touring, the drummer and the lead guitarist, Tony Hicks. Hicks also played banjo on a couple of their hits (eg stop, stop, stop) in the sixties. This night he played an electric guitar banjo for that number and later for another number he brought out something else I had never seen before, a guitar sitar, and yes, it sounded just like a sitar!
