A political field goal
Hi Lisa, Hi Mona,
I love the smoke effect on Mona’s camera, and then the cloud of smoke behind Lisa in the following segment. That was a great transition.
My question is how many times did Lisa have to kick the globe before it hit the camera in the center? That would be an incredible feat if she did it on the first take.

What do you mean, of course she got it right the first time! 😉
(We will be probably cutting together a behind-the-scenes video soon, and I think we have about an hours’ worth of footage of Lisa kicking that damn ball so you’ll see then!)

Not to cast doubt on Lisa’s athletic prowess, but I suspect there’s some special effects going on there. It looks to me like the globe artificially slows down just before impact. And if you watch the kick frame-by-frame, you see that India starts out moving to the left, suggesting a rotation, but when the globe suddenly goes dark it stops rotating. So I’m guessing that they took the first dark globe image and strategically placed it in each succeeding frame so as to outline an impact trajectory.
Sorry if I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I’m just a physics guy trying to figure out what’s happening here. Assuming it is an effect, it’s a very impressive and well-executed one!
