All I Want Christmas To Be
Posted by Jung Roe on 18/12/2022 at 20:02There is nothing like waking up to a lazy Sunday a week before Christmas to a beautiful and peaceful blanket of snow. And nothing brings back fond memories of childhood for me like a neighbourhood in the silence of snow with families out with the kids and dogs.
MLT’s All I Want Christmas To Be is a wonderful time machine that transports me to all the magical wonder and joy of Christmas I once knew. My mom busy in the Kitchen with excitement creating her culinary Christmas masterpiece, my dad all cheery and happy stealing snacks from the kitchen, and the kids eyeing the Christmas tree and all the gifts, usually knowing what is there from peaks and hints from our parents.

My first MLT Christmas experience was with this amazing video that captures the quiet peace and beauty of Christmas. While McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, MLTs is just magical. Love the Christmassy hats Mona and Lisa are wearing.

Always puts a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. The happiness in their young eyes and the obvious love in their lives shines like stars in the winter night sky. Magic and the wonder of youth.

Definitely my all-time favorite contemporary (non-traditional) Christmas song.

Hi Roger, I am in the camp that love McCartney’s Wonderful Christmas time. It has the best melody I think of all the contemporary Christmas songs, hard to get it out of my head. I love MLT’s version with just the acoustic guitar and ukelele.

I am firmly in the opposite camp. In fact, just hearing one bar of that song makes me hate Christmas. One advantage of the digital era is that we don’t have to fast-forward the tape or pick up the needle; we can just rip the album and leave the one song we can’t stand off of it. One fascinating thing to me about the MLT Christmas album is that it has the best and the worst (for me) Christmas songs of all time on the same album! 😀

These Christmas songs have become traditions here. They really capture the Christmas spirit with their home movies, candids of their stroll through the markets, and smiles bright enough to light the highest tree. And their voices sound amazing. They truly ring of Christmas Joy. They are very catchy, too.
After watching Wonderful Christmastime just now, I am feeling very Christmassee . Hmm, I wonder where Marlo put the Christmas cookies.

Ever since Neve, I see Canada Geese everywhere. I found some Christmassy Canada Geese the other day, I think a new addition to the line up at the local lake Christmas light line up. Never seen them before. Maybe Pretty Little Thing triggered something in the ether.
Here is a Christmas message Canadian style:

I love their original Christmas song, “All I Want Christmas To Be.” I love their album.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!

I have watched “All I want Christmas to Be” so many times I believe I almost have the lyrics memorized. I show it to everyone that will watch it. The curiosity and joy in the twins eyes is wonderful and takes me back to earlier days when we were all more innocent. Papa Rudi has done a great job in filming the girls as they have grown up and every video they have with older footage in it is a joy. Hoping there is still more to come!!

Papa Rudi has captured so many wonderful heartwarming moments of Mona and Lisa growing up, love them. Music is pearls that colours and brightens the black and white world around us. All I Want Christmas To Be captures the magic of Christmas so perfectly, reminds me of the magical Christmas spirit I felt as a child.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Music can be magical! The girls as young children keep faith/hope alive for us all with their pure joy and curiosity. Let’s hope that 2023 brings much more good than bad. Happy New Year!!!
