I love the courageous artists Mona and Lisa have become. They aren’t afraid to express their thoughts and morals, in the conduit of their superb musical talent and song writing genius. Through their music and art they profoundly touch and move people to make the world a better place. They are writing songs with the refinement, depth, richness, and emotional impact on par with the legends they admire, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen….etc. MLT are right up there in the top echelon of great song writers of Rock and Roll.

In the new album Why, right from the first track you have Make Show that is a synopsis on the greedy labels and music industry where music artists have to sell their souls and music rights to the whims of the rich music industry executives. In I Bought Myself a Politician, it calls out the the corruption and deception of many autocratic leaning politicians and governments around the world. Destination Sunrise, is about “heading out to make dreams…”, but there is an underlying message and synopsis on the environment humanity is poisoning, “early sunrays are melting the ice…” Jump Ship, If You Raise Your Head, and Why calls out the greed, corruption, and selfishness plaguing humanity that is perpetuating the issues and craziness gripping the world today. “The pact between the devil and the priest….Let me look behind the masquerade”.

Pretty Little Thing, Janitor Joe, Questionable, Songbird, Summer Rain, and Any Other Day are about our normal lives, love, dreams, passion, and everything that give us hope and meaning.

This album “Why?” ties all these elements together with an amazing unity in a brilliant masterpiece work of art. Mona and Lisa are pushing the envelope pioneering a new music style all their own inspired by the genius of the great legends of the 60s like the Beatles. It will appeal to the young and old, across generations.

The magnificent song “Why?” is to Mona and Lisa what “A Day In The Life” is to the Beatles, a timeless classic masterpiece.

Hi Tom, nice to hear from you, hope you are doing well.

Yeah, you will have a wonderful experience with the album. I’ve been listening to the album continuously all weekend, while I do other things. I don’t want to turn it off as all the music is so awesome and flows so wonderfully from track to track. I’m completely consumed with the beauty and awe of this music.

Sometimes it’s too easy to fall in the trap of comparing MLT music to other iconic classics, but only as a point of reference to underscore the gravity of truly how great it is. With the album “Why?”, Mona and Lisa created a brilliant masterpiece unlike any other. The music is so new, refreshing, and the style all their own, Mona and Lisa are paving the way of the future of Rock and Roll, as true pioneers in music.

I love every song in the album, and especially the song “Why”, not only for the sublime harmonies and breathtaking melody and instrumentation, but there is so much meaning there, from issues threatening humanity, to songs like Songbird that get right to the core of what matters in life and what you are left with in the end, love! “In the end it’s love that will remain”. I can connect with every song so wonderfully, from the masterful poetic lyrics of “Any Other Day”, to the passionate free spirited release of Destination Sunrise, “…heading out to make dreams come alive”. When I hear I Bought Myself a Politician, Jump Ship, If You Raise Your Head, and Why, I feel a big yes, thank you for saying that, and I hope the world will hear it. My heroes!

Thank you so much Mona and Lisa for the for the way you make me feel so many incredible emotions, with that magic you do with your music!

Jung, I know it’s been said before,”You bring a lot of class to this place”. Your posts have been great. It is nice to read everyone’s different thoughts of Why? After digesting a new song and finding a personal connection with it, it’s always interesting to read everybody else’s thoughts.

I’ve kinda been waiting to listen to the CD in one continuous run, and guess what landed on my doorstep today. I am putting it on my phone now. Tomorrow’s going to be a nice ride to work, and even better going home. I will probably have some more thoughts after a few more commutes.

I was visited by my little friend Shwartz tonight. Schwartz is actually kind of large for a skunk. I was sitting outside scrolling through my iPad. Back up a sec. Ever since my initial encounter with this beast, I started reading up on skunks. I even found some good advice here. Everything said they are docile and that they will turn and scamper if you remain calm and speak loudly. So I feel a little braver and think I could get a good closeup pic. Besides, they only spray if they feel trapped.

I was sitting there scrolling through my iPad and in walks Schwartz. My first thought was now’s my chance. My mind said open the camera and turn the iPad toward the skunk. My right eye focused on the iPad while my left eye said that thing is bigger than we remember, and it’s about seven inches away from my feet. I thought it was the neighbor’s cat the way it strolled in. And then it realized I was there. No sudden moves,”Hey get out of here!” That was all I could do. It turned around kind of quickly and started to walk towards the front of the carport. So naturally I followed up with,”Go on then, get out of here!” I think I may have stomped my foot. My left eye yelled at me,”No sudden moves! It might feel threatened.” Meanwhile, my right eye had already measured the distance to the door and sent notice to my central nervous system to be ready. Both eyes turned to Shwartz who had paused for a second. It’s tail was rising. I yelled again and was through the door in an instant. It didn’t spray, but I wasn’t taking any chances.

Here I was all pumped up and ready to get a great pic. I mean I have been looking for Schwartz to come and visit again for a while. I was ready. Smile for the camera you stink’n varmint. So who walks in, and as soon as it looked up at me this little voice started screaming,”It’s gonna spray! It’s gonna stink! Run away quickly! Run away quickly!” I think I sat there for about five seconds before I first reacted.

I can’t figure out why I get so freaked out, and why does it seem so interested in me? Perhaps it is from some childhood trauma that I have blocked out. I have never been sprayed by a skunk? Could Warner Bros. be the one to blame? Maybe the answer is Why?

Okay, this went way longer than I thought it was going to. I hope you didn’t think I was going to end with I got sprayed. That would stink, but it would be hilarious. Picture me sitting in a lawn chair and casually holding my hand out to a skunk,”Here kitty, kittty…”

    Hey, thanks JP!

And loved hearing your story about Schwartz! Love the name, and man you are brave to not freak out with a skunk inches from your feet! I bet Schwartz is so use to people scramming in panic when he comes by, he thought a friendly human! Glad to hear you didn’t get sprayed and all turned out OK. It sounds like maybe good song to write about, like Rocky Raccoon, but instead Curious Schwartz! MJ planted an incredible grape plant in our backyard and has been playing cat and mouse with the neighbouhood robins and sparrows. She would put up nets around the grape plant to keep the birds from getting in, but no matter what she does, they find a way in and eat the grapes. Fortunately a grape bush produces an amazing amount of grapes.

I commuted to work today by car, which I haven’t done in a while, and while usually the 1 hour long drive through rush hour traffic each way would be a big drag, really enjoyed it with MLT music blaring through the speakers. Almost lost track of where I was on the route back as I got so much into the music, could have missed my exit and ended up in the next town.
