Beatleweek in Liverpool
Posted by Angelo on 07/06/2019 at 16:57Hello MLT,
I’ve been so pleased with Liverpool that I’m plannig to come back for the Beatleweek (21-27 August). To be honnest, associated with a bicycle race (Eroica Britania) in Bakewell a few days before. Do you intend to have an official appearence on that occasion? I’ll leave on already on Friday. You experts, do you have any advice of the must see thing the twoo first days? By the way if any MLT’s fan plan to come we could meet us there. Could we?

Hi Angelo,
A few years ago you could have seen us enough times during IBW to become sick of us by the end of the week – we used to play up to 15 shows a week! 😛 These days, however, we’re focusing much more on our own music, so we won’t be playing on this occasion. As far as recommendations go, that really depends on what you’re into. Some people spend lots of time down at the Cavern Club while others prefer the bigger, less sweaty places 🙂 There is live music on pretty much 24/7 in a lot of venues throughout the town. They also have bigger productions on at the theatres that can be really good. To catch some interesting talks (it will depend on what guest speakers they invite this year) you might want to consider getting tickets for the convention at the Adelphi Hotel (Sunday). Here’s the official event overview: https://www.internationalbeatleweek.com/
For Beatles Tours check out Jackie Spencer: https://www.jackiespencerbeatleguide.com/
She’s the best, but she’s usually booked out very quickly. It makes us really happy to hear how much you enjoyed your trip to Liverpool! We too, fell in love with this city the minute we set foot in it 🙂

Hello Lisa,
Becoming sick of you seems very unlikely. Though 15 times a week, Gee !  it’s really a lot. Should have been a  kind of an experience. I understand your concern about focusing on your own music. As you said « there is a time to stay behind and there’s a time to walk ahead ». I support you and encourage you totally in this way.
I used your recommendations carefully and already had contact with Jackie Spencer, unfortunatly she is on a week off till the 22nd. It’s a pity but I’ll check the website you’ve  indicated and make my way through the various activity they propose. I can not wait to be there.
If I do like England and really enjoyed Liverpool, Chambery is not bad either. Here is a picture taken during my daily walk.
Thank you again for time and your kind answer and take care of yourself, the four of you.

I had a look at Jackie Spencers sight and looks like some very nice tours and a must do thing when visiting Liverpool. And a bonus if you can catch Paul McCartney walking around like in that one picture! Thanks for that Lisa. Crossing that great pond to the east and seeing the UK and Liverpool in particular is a bucket list thing for me. So much history and rich culture there. And of course the biggest thing would be to catch one of your concerts in person one day!!!

Here is the surprise of the Weekend at Liverpool. John Lennon reborn, better than in the film “Yesterday”. I am rather a Macca Fan than a Lennon’s one but this one was really bluffing and give us a really good time.

Very nice! I was half expecting Mona to show up to play the flute at the end.
