Hey Jung,
That would be really sad too see happen. They should ask for donations. I would contribute to
something like that. Hopefully they will do something like that.

I’d seen this on Facebook, sad to hear, but am Thankful MLT did have opportunity to play there, hoping it does not close, for to do so would be detrimental to the tourism of Liverpool to a degree, I would think, and that would a shame…I’m sorry that the original Cavern Club was demolished, but was happy the resurrected it with the current one, really hoping a change of heart, pressure from public, etc will divert a potential tourism disaster and place of importance in music history….?

They’re not alone Jung. Many businesses across the world are suffering at the moment and it is particularly difficult fot those in the entertainment industry. A three day musical festival I was planning attending, the “Nimbin Roots Festival” has just been forced to close, owing to another outbreak of Covid 19 in the state. Fortunately there is still one happening in my state next month as we have the virus more under control, at the moment at least. It will be the start of our spring and the weather will be ideal for camping.

Howard is quite right.
Everyone support your local small business when you can.
We are all doing something for a very charming family business – and none of us live
anywhere near Liverpool, UK.
Everyone stay strong.

Sad news. Many live venues are struggling. Let’s pray that this ting ends soon!

Maybe Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr could step in and help the Cavern survive the summer/fall/and winter. It’s there promoting their music and legend, a big icon of the Beatles history and legacy. Perhaps the City of Liverpool could step in and also help protect the Cavern as a critical culture/heritage institution for the city.

Hey Jung,
I was thinking the same thing. In fact all the bands that got their start there.
The least they can do. Good one Jung

This Covid thing has closed a TON of businesses in the U.S. and I’m sure elsewhere. I hope the Cavern can weather this storm, it would be a shame to see it close even though it’s not the original or even in the exact original spot. I know it’s close to where it was originally. I’ve always wanted to visit England and go to Liverpool and see the Cavern. I’ll probably never get the chance but I hope there can be some way to contribute to keeping them open. Hopefully Liverpool will do whatever it can to keep it from closing. We already lost it once, let’s not do that again.

There is promising news I saw on the BBC. The UK government is throwing a life line to some 135 music venues across the UK deemed culturally historic where bands like the Beatles performed in the form of a “Culture Recovery Fund (1.75 billion pounds total allocated) ” that gives emergency grants to these small businesses to survive the current financial hardship due to the pandemic.

MLT recently posted an announcement about the Cavern Club on FaceBook. This is happening Aug 27 to Sept 1. I’m not sure how to involved in this virtually.
