This past Sunday, I went to pick up some food for dinner and guess what? It started Snowing!! So I got out of the car and ran in the house to grabbed my Mona Lisa Christmas album and played it in the car as I was going to pick up dinner. Of course I have been listening to this album since July but how cool is that , snowing and listening to the Mona Lisa Twins and it put me in the spirit of the holidays. So as I mentioned before, Walking in the Air is a great song hands down, but as a B E Taylor Fan ( a great singer from Pittsburgh Pa , who passed away a couple of years ago) who does Christmas music and great shows, the song War is Over , so This is Christmas that the Mona Lisa twins do, has the B E Taylor effect to it. Such energy and fun and just such a great job on this song. And to end with Silent Night? Another Pittsburgh Legend Joe Negri ( a great guitar player ) That song has the Joe Negri effect to it, so my point is, The Mona Lisa Twins are so good at what they do and Make covers their own, I just love that I found these young ladies and can share in their journey of music. So how about you all in the club? Have you pulled this album out yet??

Hi Bill, yeah I pulled it out occasionally throughout the year to listen to Walking In The Air especially.  Little Drummer Boy, is also another one I love, such beautiful vocals and harmonies on that one.  No instruments, just their majestic vocals, and Mona’s drumming.

I really like MLTs acoustic version of Silent Night.  Wonderful guitar work and beautiful singing.   That song lost it’s luster, so overplayed at Christmas through the years, and one I can actually sing knowing most of the lyrics, but MLT’s version restored the magic for me.

    Hello Jung!

Good to hear from you, such a great album and this is Christmas to me. And Little Drummer Boy as you said is great. I remember in 1976 Bing Crosby and David Bowie doing this song and the critics were scratching their heads trying to figure out that a crooner and a rock star can do a Christmas song and low and behold it has become a Christmas tradition, and now the Mona Lisa Twins have breathed new life into it and it is so joyful to listen to. As always Jung love your posts my friend. Time to get my little Maddie ready for bed and school tomorrow, have a great night everyone

Hi Bill, hope you’re doing great!  Looking at the calendar it’s only 6.45 weeks until Christmas!  I’m itching to blow the dust off the Christmas album and crank up the holiday cheer, very, very soon.  Temps are dipping to frosty levels, and the weatherman’s been threatening snow lately.   With the new lockdown restrictions happening, these tunes will be that much more sweet these holidays.

    Jung,

Hello my friend, been crazy busy lately, but this Album of Christmas Music is a gem and is at the top of my list for the holidays. Each and every song is done with perfection. I love this album and have been listening since July. All I want Christmas to be is such a beautiful song and the lyrics hit home with me and such a beautiful blend of voices caps this off along with the great piano playing. This album puts you in the spirit of the holidays and like I posted before with the world in the shape it is in? The Mona Lisa Twins make it so much easier to get thru your day.

Indeed, it is now a staple to my Xmas time traditions of music to enjoy   over tge season, and help me cope throughout my Winter Blah Blues… I still enjoy ” Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer”, “Merry Bloody Xmas” and a few others by Irish Rovers and ” I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas”, Boney M’s  ” Mary’s Boy Child”, and some other classic gems… This year, my fave Canadian band  ( Glass Tiger) just released their  own Christmas CD , which I’ll get eventually…lol

It is nice when Christmas music comes along,  that moves you, puts you in the spirit of things ????????

Winter Wonderland is another fave from the Christmas album.  Here is some wonderful MLT Winter Wonderland from the Cavern days to get you in the mood for the fireplace and some warm cheer to come.
