Hi Jacki, that is awesome!  I’m super glad you got your Lamy Safari fountain pen.  Now you, me, and Howard have them, and of course Mona and Lisa have shown us what kind of magic they can do with these drawing instruments.  They never cease to impress.

Will love to see more hand drawn sketches and poems from your Lamy.  Your sketches done here really stand out, especially with the colors.

I’m not very good at sketching, so for now, here are some handwritten quotes with my Lamy fountain pens.

    Fun with Ink

This is what some fountain pen nuts like myself like to do with their fountain pens.

Just as with customized guitars and muscle cars, we are passionate with our customized fountain pens.  Here is a little taste.

Beautiful !! the art of a craftsman,

it was seeing some of the old letterpress type styles that got me into printing – i couldn’t use a pen like that any where near as artistically, but sure could hand print from engraved blocks an equally flourishing gilded invitation or wedding service booklet.

My first 3 years of learning to print was to typeset by hand and imprint on  an old Heidelberg Platen, many of these items, painstakingly setting impression and inks, Gold & silver foils, Thick card, Thin card, and even tissue papers.

I loved it, the Art of the designs, the patience, skill and craftsmanship which resulted in a piece of Art, that was the joy of being a printer of the old ways.

Long gone now, Digital, Electronic, Super fast = No skill, No Reward !!

I transfer my efforts to what I can do on screen and online now, at least I still have pleasure in the creative side now.

Top marks to you  Jung, if you still pursue the simple pleasures in this crazy electronic race then you will keep a clearer insight to reality

      P:)
