    Hi Mona and Lisa !

My parents were lucky enough to see the Everly Brothers a few times. They played at a small venue (The Beach Boys even mention it in their song ‘Salt Lake City’). My mom said they were on the same dance floor with no barriers so they could practically walk up and stand next to them. My dad said they fell in love to them singing ‘Til I Kissed You’.

It’s sad when legends die, but there are always new legends born. I can easily see them standing in a field in their black suits singing an MLT cover of ‘June’ (because they loved the song so much, they had to sing it and pay tribute to the original artists)

You are legends in our time. Thank you for keeping the music alive!!

    Hi Diana,

What a sweet story and I am sure a treasured memory for your parents. And how cool that they were just on a dance floor with everyone else! … although I can’t imagine the sound being very good that way. 😉

We would have loved to see them live in later years but I don’t think they performed much in Europe throughout the 2010’s. It’s sad that they are both gone now, but all of us will keep their music alive and their songs will live on, there is no doubt about that.

Thanks for sharing that with us and the kind words!

We attended the Everly Bros reunion concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London in the 1980s. As the lights went down at the start of the show, two spotlights picked out Don and Phil standing at the top of flights of steps on either side of the stage. As the music started, they made their way down the steps and met centre-stage. Great way to make their entrance! I also noticed how they looked into each others eyes a lot while singing in harmony, presumably to make sure they kept in time together. Great memories.
