[postquote quote=100246][/postquote] Superb David!
Wow guys, these are all awesome, I never thought there were so many. Ben, Hungry Like a Wolf, Puff the Magic Dragon and on and on….I was going to attempt to post videos for all the songs, but I don’t think the logistics of that would be practical. Keep them coming please !
Here are a couple by MLT:
The exceptionally beautiful MLT original.

The intro by young and bubbly Mona and Lisa is so cute!
For the new people here, could you tell Mona and Lisa apart if you didn’t know Lisa had the longer hair where they are both laying on the floor singing?
-
Well if we’re allowing Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs, how about “Little Red Riding Hood”. It’s a song about a big bad wolf!
-
I love MLTs cover (on the BAM3 album) of this lesser known Beatles classic gem!

Now this one can be interpreted as pushing it and an excuse to just play another MLT video here, and you’d be right, but there is a reference to a turtle. 🙂
Cause I can make like a turtle …

Coincidentally, just a couple of days ago I came across this impressive old cover of Blackbird by a vocal group consisting of four sisters:

That’s a nice one David. It looks like these gals go all the way back to the 60s.

That’s a very long bow you’re using there Jung, but excusable as it’s another awesome cover from the girls.
”I can make like a turtle and dive for your pearls in the sea, yep”
A tough one to cover as on his recording, Donovan had Jimmy Page playing lead guitar and also John Paul Jones, both later of Led Zeppelin of course.

I know you did say famous. Well this one was famous in Australia. Pretty sure no one else will know it though.
“Monty And Me” – Zoot
Monty is the name of the writer’s dog.

Nice song Howard. It looks like that song was famous enough for there to be a dog food brand named after it. Montego’s “Monty and Me” dog food.

Sorry Guys, I was going to bed and figure I shoot you a few. Just woke up and checked and saw this. A good list indeed. Back to bed.

See You Later, Alligator – Bill Haley
Dig a Pony – The Beatles

I’m sure Mona and Lisa are wondering why everyone forgot they’re Pink Floyd fans. PF produced a whole album called Animals – with pigs, dogs and sheep.

Ah, but Jacki, the Purple People Eater is an alien, not an animal!
