LOL, David that is a long song actually isn’t it.My favourite Paul McCartney song would have to be Band on The Run. In fact I liked every single song on that Wings Greatest hits album, the only post Beatles solo album I ever bought.

How about Carole King? She wrote and co wrote a ton of songs in the 60’s. And her killer album Tapestry. 1971. I Did pose this question to Mona and Lisa to see if they would consider covering any of her songs.
-
Good call, Bill! Goffin and King are my very favorite pre-Beatles songwriting team, and of course her solo career has been stellar.
I bought a ticket to a local Broadway road company performance of the Carole King musical, but unfortunately it’s been postponed for at least a year.

Noel Paul Stookey (of Peter, Paul & Mary) wrote this song for Peter Yarrow’s wedding:

Beautiful song David. Lovely guitar sounds.
A technical question, how do you set youtube to start at a particular point in the video like you do with some of your posts? It’s very useful to point someone to a specific part of the video. Also do you know if it’s possible to set an end point? Then by defining a start and end point you could highlight just a segment of a long video for someone. Perhaps that’s wishing for too much. 🙂
-
That’s the only tech trick I know! I figured it out by looking at other videos that had been set that way. I wanted to start it at the 34-second point, so at the end of the URL I added &t=34s (“and time equals 34 seconds”). It’s a pain to do the math when you want to start several minutes in, but it works.
I don’t know if it’s possible to set an end point; I’ve never seen a YouTube video that did that. But yeah, it would be handy to be able to slice up an existing video exactly to your own specifications that way.
-
Thanks! Great to know, I will make use of that. I’ve often inadvertently set videos to start where I left off near the end of the video which was frustrating, but it looks like I can remedy that circumstance too now. 🙂

David and Jung,
Beautiful Song , I sang that song at my nephews wedding and the words and the chords are lovely. Great selection David, thanks for putting that one out there!

Nice selections, Joe! Dhani is pretty much George reincarnated.
I once saw an interview in which Paul told a cute story about his son. When James was very young, Paul was working on the song “So Bad”, which contained frequent use of the phrase “Girl, I love you.” Since all his siblings were sisters, James thought he was being excluded from the love, so in the last verse Paul changed it to “and she said, ‘Boy, I love you.'”

Hey David, Interesting story on McCartney son and Paul. Never heard that one. Yea Dhani looks so much like George. I hope he sticks with the music. In fact both of them. Ringo’s son Zak plays drums for The Who. Maybe they should get together and see what happens. Glad you enjoyed them David.

Dion DiMucci, lead singer of the doo-wop group Dion and the Belmonts (“A Teenager in Love”), struck a chord with this song a few years later as a solo performer:
