Ah Jung, you beat me to it: I also had “My Immortal” on my list 🙂 . Yes, a very nice intro and a wonderful song.
I actually only know “Hard to say I’m sorry” and “You’re the Inspiration” from Chicago.
Quebec City seems very beautiful. At least based on the pictures I’ve seen so far. The architecture looks very French. Of course, the „Château Frontenac“ and the „Quartier Petit Champlain“ are particularly impressive. It would actually be a nice topic for „Wanderlust“ (Vancouver, Quebec, the national parks and of course Ottawa), unfortunately I’m not a Canada expert and I’m not at all familiar with Canadian music (do they even know music there?!), but if you should know an expert Jung, maybe even someone who lives there (count me in)…????.
Here are two nice intros. The first one is from the band “Heart”, one of the few bands I know where the male and female members spend equal amounts of time at the hair stylist:
-
And the masterpiece intro by an organ virtuoso from the 18th century, new reinterpreted (I know I’ve shown the video elsewhere, what’s the point…)

Hi Jurgen, niiice pick with Heart’s Alone, beautiful piano intro, awesome guitar work in the middle, and a clever piano outro! And that second video by Sky! I loved it. If modern instruments like the electric guitar, drum kit, keyboard synth existed in Bach’s day, his music would sound like this. I really believe the great classical composers are no different from the great rock and roll songwriters of the 60s. John Lennon, Paul McCartney I see as Beethoven and Mozart equivalents, and Jimi Hendriks and Eric Clapton are the Bach’s of today.
Please excuse my indulgence as this has awakened the Bach in me, so I present a classical Bach piece that hypnotizes me whenever I hear it these days. Listen to the 2 piano voices break into harmonious counterpoint.

Hi Juergen, looks like Ian is barreling down on Florida, stay safe! Fiona hit Canada’s Atlantic provinces over the weekend and wreaked havoc (another historic weather event)!
Supertramp is awesome and this would not be complete without them. In my teens I was lucky to have an older brother who bought a lot of vinyl, and Supertramp “Even In The Quietest Moments” was one of his albums I listened to a ton of times, loved it. The epic “Fools Overture” was my favourite on the album. I also liked Give A LIttle Bit, but it has no piano intro for this discussion.

I’ve posted this song before, but it has a great piano intro.
-
Diana, yeah the piano intro is nice, and the catchy beat of the music is really nice too!

Elton John praised Sara Bareilles for doing such a great rendition of this song
-
I also love this song by Sara Bareilles. She is part of the rare breed of current artists that are singer/songwriters
-
Diana, a very nice interplay of piano and vocals. I don’t know Sara Bareilles, who is she?
-
Hi Jurgen,
Sara is an amazing American singer-songwriter. She wrote all of the music for the Broadway musical ‘Waitress’. I’ve even been to one of her concerts. I included her rendition of ‘Stoney End’ (a big hit for Barbra Streisand). This was for Laura Nero’s (the songwriter) posthumous induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

One more. Clair de Lune/Ballerina by Styx
-
And here a nice cembalo intro:
PS: if you listen carefully, you might recognize the beginning of Dave Brubeck’s “Take five”. Also an absolute classic.
-
Jung,
It’s a dangerous thing to post an interesting topic to an insomniac. This song has a feel good piano intro.

Hi Diana, nice piano intro in Who Do You Think You Are, and I also liked the video, so much beautiful Hollywood glamour! Claire Da Lune/Ballerina really surprised me, started off as a beautiful classical piano piece and then goes into some wonderful guitar sounds in the end. Had to check the title to confirm it was Styx at first. Sara Barelles Yellow Brick Road really captured and move the audience. She plays with a lot of feeling on the piano. Thanks so much, for posting these, really enjoyed them. Sometimes when you can’t sleep, music is the best remedy. 🙂

Admittedly, I’m cheating a bit now: Of course, the following piece is not an intro, but a full-fledged piano storm, but the new interpretation of the two pianists may make my little fib forgotten again:
-
Hi Jurgen, some great jazzy virtuosity going on there by the two ladies. That makes me want a grand piano one day, but I see it will be a challenge to get one of those in my little home office. May have to do that folding a sailing ship trick in a bottle thing. LOL.

Hi Tom, nice to hear some Pablo Cruise, haven’t heard them in a while. A very nice catchy song, and powerful piano intro!
