• Gretsch New?

    Hello Ladies,

    I noticed in you Beautiful Updated Version of Snow Falls Softly At Night that it Appears Lisa got a New Gretsch. The Frets are different and the Pick Guard is on This one. It appears its a beige color. Also there is some red on it (switches) if this is the case, what happened to the old one? Did it get broken when you beheaded poor Mona? Haha

    One last thing, I noticed something in the above mentioned video, melted my heart to say the least. Thank you both for that.

    Much love and stay Groovy.

    Rick

    Hi Rick,
    My Gretsch Duo Jet is still in perfectly good shape but I wanted to go for more of a smooth, jazzy sound so I picked the Country Gentleman that we’ve luckily owned for a while now (thanks to the one and only Steve from Miami 🙂 ). Now that you say it, I don’t think it has ever made it into any videos yet, but I played it on a few recordings and sometimes used it at band practise when going for different tones or to mix things up a bit. It sounds, plays and looks gorgeous. Wouldn’t trade it for my Duo Jet as an all-round live performance weapon but it’s fantastic to have in the studio.

      Wow!!  A Country Gentleman is a very good guitar.  I have a White Falcon which is the smoothest guitar I have ever played.  I also have a Baby Jet.  Sounds like we might have similar gear bags.  Mike.

    Hi Lisa,

    Thanks ever so much for your answer..I had looked on line and the Chet Atkins Country Gentleman is what I saw. I wasn’t sure so I didn’t want to be wrong in case. Did you know it also comes in a Georgeous Red color?

    Glad to know your Duo Jet is still doing well. I saw it in Getting Better.  I know that you both play a vast amount of instruments. Perhaps some time you can show all of us All the different instruments you do have. That would be extra Groovy.

    Best Wishes to all of you.

    • I would be a cad if I did not mention Steve from Miami. Steve is the premier fan. He has given so much of himself to the MonaLisa Twins and their Unbeliveable team. Seldom do you find someone of his caliber that does literally everything he can to support you. I know each of your fans are important and special to you, bit Steve in in the cream that rises to the top.

    As many of you may recall, the Gretsch Country Gentleman was the guitar George played on the Beatles’ first visit to the U.S., beginning with their appearance on the Ed Sullivan show.  And for those of you who don’t recall this, now you know.  🙂

      Hi Daniel;

      Funniest thing……I was just watching the Beatles’ first appearance on Sullivan last night and saw that George was playing the Gretsch….I could tell it was not a Jet and even wondered a bit if it was a Gibson ES-335,  Then I saw the Gretsch logo and knew it had to be the CG.  Mike.

    Thanks Daniel for the reminder. After all “George is the reason I ( Lisa ) Play”.
