Guest voices in "No More Worries Co."
Posted by David Herrick on 13/08/2019 at 23:51Were the spoken lines in the background of “No More Worries Company” recorded especially for that song, or were they sampled from existing sources?

Most of it are super old recordings that we found … sampled, stretched and twisted. We love the sound of those super early voice-recordings and they fitted perfectly with the sort of 1920’s/40’s feel we were going for with this song 🙂

The background voices effect give it a nice celebratory feel like being at a fair, kinda like the background voices in Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

That was a great Q David to ask and I luv Lisa ‘s reply…. From the GetGo of hearing this song from the ORANGE album/CD, I immediately had the Vintage 20s/30s vibe feel in my head and this song just screams out for another vintage creative video where vintage costuming are a must because Team MLT can capture the essences and spirit of the past as though they’ve been but living in present to preserve what they know and love.
Like Jung, I envision old school circuses like Barnum & Bailey, old school traveling /vaudville/medicine shows, old time radio ads in between programming. It makes me recall of the time in either Grade 7 or 8 for History class when we all had to do a project on fave eras…. I chose the 20s as I knew my Grandma as a great source… She delivered, she entrusted me in my utmost care and which I respectfully did so, her actual wedding dress/veil from the 20s, and a few other items she had saved and carefully stored away. The dress a tad discolored by that time but still in tact… Project garned me an A++or A+++..That actual piece of authenticity made all the difference, just like in this song, those extras just made the song that more vivid and authentic…!!!!

I agree with you Jacki. A video in the style of their “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer”, with Mona and Lisa in their best ‘flapper’ gear and roaring twenties makeup would be perfect. I’m sure they’d appreciate the excuse to do some more clothes shopping!

For me it was the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s & 60’s all rolled into one. Simple times, carefree existence. “Not So Many Worries”, you felt safe all the time, progression of life, and “promises on a warm summers night” the telling of stories that began ” Once Upon A Time”. You met that someone special, you were “In It For Love” even if you felt sorry for him and “Gave Him A Kiss” ?. But through it all ” You’re Still A Friend Of Mine”.
