Halfy Birthday to Mona and Lisa!
All these childhood reminiscences associated with the Advent calendar brought back a recollection that my family used to celebrate the kids’ half-birthdays, because a whole year was just too long to wait.
No gifts were given, but my mom baked a cake and we all sang “Halfy Birthday” before the honoree blew out the candles. And yes, one candle was much shorter than the others.

Yes, December is a big month for Mona and Lisa with Christmas and a half birthday too! I’ll have to try and remind people I have a half birthday in June.
