Not that I can tell, Bill. I think the website crash has pushed back their timeline.
-
Thanks David, I thought so. Just making sure it was not on my end in which at times it is.
Take care

For a while there was a message that came up instead of the full site saying all of that was put on hold while they focused on getting the site fixed. Just typing this I’m getting lags that tell me things aren’t yet really back where they should be. I wish we could take up a collection to get them some solid web IT support so they could focus on the art.
-
That temporary message taught me a British term I hadn’t heard before, but apart from that, these problems with the website have been just gut-spannering.
I agree about the IT support issue. Team MLT are techno-whizzes, but these fixes shouldn’t need to consume the majority of their time.

Hey David, if the word is “spanner,” when I saw that it finally dawned on me that John Lennon was making a pun in his book title way back when. As a little kid, I just assumed “A Spaniard in The Works” had something to do with some guy from Spain.
-
Wow, David, if I lived to be 1000 that never would have occurred to me! And I figured “in the works” meant “in progress”, i.e., he was becoming Spanish, which I thought was just an attempt at an absurd premise.

Hi Bill…yes…the website seems to be intermittently behaving and I too, seen the Maintenance Mode msg pop up the last few days…hoping all can get sorted…I know Team MLT doing Best they can….🤘

I agree Jacki, MLT are on it for sure. My internet service from time to time is tricky. Like I always say, anything from Mona and Lisa is worth waiting for.

I will be glad contribute if it will help, but …
I worked in the systems and real-time programing world for most of my career. For those who aren’t familiar with the term real-time, it just means the system has to respond within a very small time window. Web servers are similar, they just have a bigger time window for response, but when the volumes are a high as what the Twins server has to process, the problems become similar. These problems can take weeks to find by the best. I don’t envy Rudi and family as they try to track this one down.
I’m impressed by the patience and support I see from my fellow club members, and I’m glad to be a part of the Club, watching the Twins climb the ladder to the top!

Thanks for that perspective, Dennis. I’ve worked as a web manager on the content side. When the site would go down all I could do was pace the floor, hoping the IT guys would get it figured out and back up soon. I never had a clue what they were going through to make that happen.
Of course nowadays it’s common for sites to be mirrored on many servers across the globe to ensure greater uptime reliability. I have no idea what the setup is for this site.
On a positive note, tonight (Tuesday) it seems to be back to normal, with snappy load times and no lag as I’m typing. Whatever gremlin got into the site, team MLT seems to have found it and kicked it to the curb.
