Hello from sunny Stoke on Trent
Hi! I’ve been listening to MLT for a couple of years now. ‘Orange’, in particular, takes me from smiling idiotically at everyone, to lump-in-the-throat, where’s-my-handkerchief, every time.
I’m currently editing my first novel; a feminist crime thriller/romance. Don’t worry, this isn’t a plug; it might never be published! But yeah, I’m a paperback writer…
I have my heroine singing ‘Count on Me’ at one stage. She’s arranged it with the band without the knowledge of her boyfriend, their bass player, who sits and listens. Not a dry eye in the house…
Another time, she listens to ‘Orange’ in her car because she finds it uplifting. Who wouldn’t?

Count on Me is such a beautiful song, I know what you mean, the emotional pull it has. Those inspired lyrics, wow! Another song from Orange, one of my absolute favourites, for your feminist crime thriller/romance would be Sweet Lorraine. It might aligns nicely with your plot I think.

Thanks for the replies! Yes, Sweet Lorraine has Jess Plaxton, my protagonist, smiling and singing along. She’s a big fan of Mona and Lisa – as am I!
