    Club members,

So how cool is this cover that the Mona Lisa Twins do? I mean wow! Mona takes it to another level with her driving rhythm guitar and singing and Lisa? OMG What a great job on the lead guitar? Jung you mentioned before in one of your posts and I agree 100% Mona and Lisa are the simply the best and no one comes close. Lisa’s lead guitar can be matched with the best of the best in the music industry and watching her play these incredible leads is mind blowing, and hey Mona does a great Lead Guitar job on You can’t do that, I put my head set on to listen to You can’t do that and Mona does a great job with the lead singing and lead guitar!! So throwing that out there to see how you all feel

At home…I always sing out my lungs and love dancing and air guitaring  to it when I listen to it with my headphones…exceptions not being able to sing outloud, dance, air guitaring would be at a bus station, bus stop, on the bus, malls, librarires etc, but by myself in a park, I would…lol…?

After discovering the twins a few months ago I was looking for videos I could show others to convince them that Lisa was a really good, if not great, lead guitarist (I think she’s great, btw).  “Johnny B. Goode” was one of the first that I keyed in on ( followed by “Revolution”, “The Last Time”, “Paint it Black” and “One More Time”).  I’ve never been a particular fan of the song itself, but I love watching Lisa play it.  And then, of course, there’s Mona burning her fingers off.  I don’t think anyone plays the rhythm guitar as fast as she does on this song.  She said in the comments on YouTube “if we start off too fast with this song it feels like my hand is about to fall off after the first verse.”

Hi Bill.  Oh yes, they both take Johnny B Goode over the top and slam dunk it with the brilliant guitar work very few past and present can match.  Mona and Lisa sing and harmonize so great, all at the same time knocking off just masterful guitar work.  I dont see anyone in the past or on youtube today or anywhere make music with such diversity and consistency in brilliant singing and guitar playing at the level Mona and Lisa do them.  Cream of the crop in artistry and musicianship.

I recently stumbled upon this video which is incredibly inspiring when you know that Michael J. Fox

has been fighting Parkinson’s disease for 25 years at this point (2016).

That’s a great and inspiring video Lynn, thanks for sharing it.

Many of us complain of no musical talent, but when you see someone like Michael J Fox with the physical limitations due to Parkinsons, can play the guitar like that, it’s inspiring.  He grew up in a suburb of Vancouver called Burnaby, which is not too far away from where I live today.  There is a library named in his honour in Burnaby.
