Wow such great responses everyone. I love Motown as well and love early Marvin Gaye, I will be dog gone, Aint that preocular, AND the songs he did with Tammy Terrell and Kim Westin. And the Supremes , Stop in the name of love, Love Child etc. What a special time for us to witnessed and I go back to the Mona Lisa Twins, they take that time back to us and breathe new life into these songs and they let us know in a world of craziness? Come aboard with us and let the No More Worry’s company show you the way to get thru it. God Bless the Mona Lisa Twins! And god bless Motown

I could be wrong but “MLT” have already performed “motown” songs in concert (to be exact at least one “Jackson Five” song).
Maybe there is a copyright problem, as it has never been seen or heard anywhere after. -
Smokey R. was the best writer in Motown in my humble opinion.
Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow with a great harmony version.

Dusty Springfield helped bring the Motown awareness to the UK , and she hosted a special edition of ” Ready, Steady, Go ” tv show, that featured some Motown acts of the day, and did a few duets with some acts… I believe the Motown gang were there as part of a UK tour to begin with. Dusty also performed with some Motown gang in New York… just some extra Motown tidbits for this topic of interest????

I just want everyone to know that Cruisin, & My Girl were on my Motown list for North American Classics.
Both written by Mr. Robinson – the one man miracle.

Thomas, I haven’t seen Huey Lewis sing in ages, never saw him as a Motown singer, but he did a good job in the video. Whenever I see Gwyneth Paltrow I can’t help but think of Iron Man’s girl friend, and then I remember my wife has a big crush on Robert Downey Junior. Iron Man movies played often in our household. LOL.

Well Jung,
you’re the one (i think) who started the discussion about liking a cover better than the original.
I never knew Otis R. wrote Respect. I always thought Aretha owned it.But – thanks to Joseph Manzi – here is the great man on his own !
Let us know what you think.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvC9V_lBnDQ
P.S.
There is also a Monterey Pop version!
