I’ve always liked songs that evoke feelings of mystery, wonder, and awe. I love that MLT have that in many of their songs like Janitor Joe, Jump Ship, Nothing Is In Vain etc… I love this cover that MLT made all their own. The mysterious desolate landscape of Lanzarote sets the perfect backdrop.

I love the new album cover artwork, that evokes mystery, wonder and awe. Absolutely brilliant!

I always find my imagination escaping high into the clouds and sky above when I hear this one. The song carries me there. Nothing is In Vain, brings much hope and brightness.

For best effect, put on head phones, turn down the lights, or find a comfortable spot under a dark starry sky.

      Hi Jung,

Welcome to the Machine is also a good road trip song. Whether on a dark desolate road at night, or heavy traffic in the afternoon, I always notice a lot of syncs listening to this while driving.

What did you dream? It’s alright we told you what to dream. You dreamed of a big star. He played a mean guitar. He always ate in the Steak Bar. He loved to drive in his Jaguar. So welcome to the machine.

I can’t wait to listen to Why? on my daily commute.

      JP

I’ll bet you thought I was going to say,”On a dark desert highway.”

Hi Juergen, Sarah Brightman had some nice songs, I liked some of her music over the years, along with Enya too. I like the Queen Bohemian Rhapsody classical opera meets rock and roll style of some of Evanescence.

I really got into Enigma for a while, and still like to listen to it occasionally. The music evokes a lot of mystery and wonder.

Based on the novella “War of the worlds” by H.G. Wells there is this wonderful Musical adaptation by Jeff Wayne. A fascinating interweaving of literature and music. From this the main theme “Eve of the war”. Truly mysterious, wonderful and awe-inspiring:

This song has an ethereal vibe similar to Starman and Nothing Is in Vain:

Now it gets a bit special, I hope not too special. In 2010, the brothers Giorgio and Martin Koppehele founded a multimedia music project called „Lichtmond“. Lichtmond’s music combines electronic music with ambient and rock elements that flow into each other. Poems connect individual songs, accompanied by three-dimensional computer animations and surround sound. The brothers themselves describe their music project Lichtmond as “audiovisual poetry”. Music in the tradition of „Kraftwerk“ and „Tangerine Dream“.

    Intro:

    Intro:
Like a gentle flutter of wings you creep shamelessly into my life
and you stay forever like a sunbeam in the rain
    when souls unite
    crying with happiness and sorrow
    when they dream together
    then, then it is love

    Outro:
    A hundred vows of love
    A thousand flaming candles
    Millions of red roses
    Billions of twinkling stars
I’ll trade for a single kiss from you
    when night touches day
    in the early dawn

Hi Jurgen, that Early Dew video is awesome, it’s like a dream world, so colourful and amazing, and the music is great too, I really liked it. The instrumental with the vocals, a little like Enigma too. War of the Worlds has some really nice orchestral music, and liked the narration.

David, the Monkees did another really interesting one, and the ending was pretty interesting. I thought in the end she would say, “and the winner is…” This reminds me a little of….

Diana, Steve Miller is great, I had that album on cassette and wore it out, liked every song on that greatest hits album.

    In music, anything is possible:

    I look into the mirror

    See myself, I’m over me

I need space for my desires

I have to dive into my fantasies

I know as soon as I’ll arrive

    Everything is possible

‘Cause no one has to hide

    Beyond the invisible

A beautiful passage of text, Jung:

    “In music anything is possible”
    when thoughts and feelings unite
become the beat of your heart
    and free the yearning soul
from the cage of everyday life

By the way: There are people who believe that extraterrestrials have brought us language and writing. I think the more they brought us the music and then we became halfway intelligent….????

      Jurgen, nice poem!

Sometimes when life is too much, music can save you. I know what that’s like.

That Coldplay music video is hilarious and fun. Reminds me of what Woody Allen said, “humans are nothing more than monkees with car keys”. What’s scary is we have some in high places with the launch codes.
