    Hello Ladies!

Lisa,  your guitar Work on White Room is quite Phenomenal. Your all’s cover is Marvelous. Cream should be deeply honored.

Lisa you should be Extremly proud of your work. It took me back to the Original recording Its That Good.

My question is I know you have your Gretsch Duo Jet and Your Country Gentleman, but do you have any other Gretsch? Perhaps a Cherry one, or one that we haven’t seen, or one that you are wanting to add.

Thanks ever so much for your time.

Massive best wishes and continued Fabulous Success.

    Rick

P.S. You won’t believe what’s being added to your all’s Suprise, something never before seen. ?

Thanks Rick, glad you like the White Room cover so much! Talk about a good challenge 😉
I played it on my Fender stratocaster, in true Clapton fashion. A strat and some hefty wah-wah … can’t go wrong there!

My “main” guitar is still my Duo-Jet, though as you mentioned, we are incredibly lucky (thanks to Steve!) to also own a Country Gentleman and Tennessean. I don’t think I ever played the Tennessean in a video but we’ve posted some pictures:

It’s a real vintage one from the 60’s and it sounds phenomenal. I played it on some of the tracks on ORANGE, like “Close To You”.

I just adore these guitars. They each have so much character in their own distinct ways. They don’t call it “that great Gretsch sound” for nothing 🙂

    Lisa,

Thank you for your wonderful answer. Talk about something special. The Tennessean (my home state) is a Special one indeed. Chet Adkins was a Huge Country Star and you often saw it when he played.

I hadn’t seen the pictures before. Thanks for sharing.

I really like the guitar lead in on Close To You as well as on In It For Love.  It sounds so rich and intimate and it’s great to learn that wonderful sound was made on your vintage Gretsch Tennessean.   Thanks for that insight Lisa, and thanks Rick for that great question.  That great Gretsch sound…  George Harrison was a big fan of that sound too it seems.    I’m learning something new here all the time.

Lisa, l just wanted you to know it was you and your Gretsch that inspired me to go out and buy my Gretsch and start playing again after so many years. Thanks so much!!

In the Beatles 1965 USA tour, I read George Harrison used his Gretsch Tennessean on tour as his primary and the Country Gentleman as back up, while he put his DuoJet to rest for a while.  In that famous 1965 Shea stadium concert you can see his shiny Tennessean in all its glory.  About 20 mins into the show, he changes over to the Country Gentleman, while John briefly waits for George.  You can see both guitars in that show.  I posted that video on the other Guitar Heaven  thread in the other sub forum.

Correction: It’s actually George’s Rickenbacker 360 he changes over to.
