Oh Darlin
Posted by Rick Ross on 28/09/2020 at 20:39Hello Ladies,
Thanks for the exciting roller coaster ride updates during the U.S. Open Tennis Finals. Whew, exciting doesn’t come close to describing it.
I was wondering if you have/ or if you plan on Covering Oh Darlin by the Beatles? So much emotion poured into that song. And very powerful too.
Great song, that for me, was often misunderstood.
Thanks again Ladies for all that you do. I have never seen a classier act anywhere. Huge compliments to Rudi and Michaela. They definitely raised you right.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of that ride. ??❤

Aww, thanks Rick for the sweet words ♥
Regarding covering The Beatles’ Oh Darling: It’s not that high up on our “potential covers” list but we love it dearly! Paul’s vocals are terrific and unless we find a way to interpret the song in an authentic way we’ll continue to admire it from afar 😉
Groovy greetings,
Mona & Lisa -
Hi Lisa,
You are most welcome.
Its a genuine pleasure to follow your careers.
Perhaps one day I will have the genuine pleasure of meeting you.
I understand that Oh Darlin is not for everyone on the singing scale. Not that I don’t think you all would Nail the vocals. Its just one of those songs that either it fits your vision ot it doesn’t. Paul’s vocals are so strong and moves you in a very special way.
Best wishes always.

This begs the question: exactly what songs are on the “potential covers” list? I’ve said before that I’m more interested in new original songs, but if the Twins need a break from writing new material, I’d be curious to know what’s near the top of that list. And maybe, we fans could have a vote in what’s next. What say you, MLT fans?

To be honest, Lynn, despite how generous Mona and Lisa have been in allowing us to go along for the ride with them, I doubt they would want us that close to the steering wheel.

I agree with what David said. While MLT always welcomes suggestions, what songs they decide to cover is there own, not by popular demand. They are artists and not entertainers, so their artistic sense must always prevail which is sacred for artists.

I suppose that’s just as well. Because if they told me their top two songs are “Come Together” and “The Sound of Silence” I really couldn’t decide which one I’d want them to do next.

Just to jump in here with a bit of a story on this song. Remember I asked if anyone hear of B E Taylor? Well on his Christmas Shows, he had a great band of local musicians and one guy who was in the band is named Herbie Gernadi and B E Would highlight each member to do a song and Herbie did Oh Darlin and would sneak in Please come home for Christmas by the Eagles and wow he blew the roof off the house, so your correct that the song is very powerful vocally and Herbie did it justice.

Hi;
Concerning ‘Oh Darling’………. if anyone covers the song, it might be interesting to slow it down and turn it into a ballad or part ‘do op’. To try can copy what Paul did with the song would be difficult at best.

Hi Mike,
If you are referring to Paul’s almost Metalcore voice technique (he was decades ahead of his time), I’m sure there must be a Metalcore band that would have fun with “Oh Darlin”. Here’s a gem I found that takes a Taylor Swift song and spices it up nicely. Maybe this girl would like to cover “Oh Darlin”.
