OH MY GOD: SWEET LORRAINE acoustic version is HOT!!!
Posted by Jung Roe on 27/06/2020 at 06:24Have you guys heard Sweet Lorraine acoustic version? Holy Moly, this one is a chart topper #1 hit worthy! I like it even better than the album studio version. Right from the start that wonderful intro guitar riff beat grabs you by the belt buckles, and then those sublime vocals and harmonies, and then that lead guitar riff starts in about half way through the song howling so wonderfully, and I’m in cloud 9. Ladies, I adore this version, I’m just speechless. Everything about it is magnificent, never felt a song blow me off my feet like this! Kudos, bravo!!!! I can’t contain myself.

Have to agree with you Jung Sweet Lorraine acoustic is an awesome version of the song, having said that all the duo sessions songs are, just love the album it’s fantastic have them altogether on one CD.

Robert, yes hearing the other songs, including the new ones for the first time on the album, are just all stellar! Mona and Lisa took it way over the top again in many of the lead vocals. Mona on “Sweet Lorraine”, Lisa on Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now”, wow!!! Kudos to you both. Just like with John Lennon’s Imagine, Lisa with her incredibly beautiful singing has done supreme justice to Both Sides Now. I like them all better than the originals! So utterly impressed by MLT. The newest Beatles cover off of Rubber Soul “I’m Looking Through You” is just lovely. Love their version with the cool guitar riffs and unique ending! The album, every track, is music heaven, absolutely brilliant that only 2nd to none musicians like Mona and Lisa can do.

Jung Roe, for a guy who says he is speechless, you have a lot to say.
Sounds like you like this one?I have not received mine yet. I can not wait!
I feel like I’m waiting for the waiter.
The neighbors will probably be hearing it soon, also. 😉

LOL! I guess I was speechless for a moment anyway JP. 🙂
I was getting “Tired of Waiting” for the CD. It’s a good thing we can listen to the entire album in the meantime at the Jukebox.

Hell Yes, it’s Smokin Hot, just as equally effective as original, I love both this version and original equally…..I constantly replay this one alot, as I enjoy singing along to it, those lyrics, I can visualize the lyrical story unfolding in my mind’s eye everytime I hear it, and if ever a video is made, much like Club 27, the visual creative concept that Team MLT would/could conjure up for these 2 songs, oh wow, how my vivid imagination is creating overfloweth in my mind…lol

No waiting needed – If you bought the CD you can download the album. (At least that’s what it says on the order page). Talk about having your cake and eating it too! And yes, the Sweet Lorraine acoustic version is better than the original! It’s my favorite song on the disc. (But I may be prejudiced since “Lorraine” is my wife’s name.) -
Jim, what a lucky coincidence your wife’s name is Lorraine! Must make the song even sweeter. When Sweet Lorraine comes on all my senses start swaying to the music, I can’t help it. The beat and melody is so captivating.

Wait a minute…Did I miss something here….download the album if you ordered,…!?!?!?! somehow, I’ve missed that…crap.?.?.I did pre-order, I guess in all the excitement , I forgot to see link to download it didn’t get it…or did you mean its available in Jukebox area …?
-
Jacki, yes you should see a big album download button on the Jukebox Album Player and Download.
In the June 26th MLT Club Wire it mentioned the following:
The full album is now available for streaming in the MLT Club Jukebox and the free album download is available in the MLT Club Download Hub (for members of 3 months or longer).
So the download link I presume is available for people who’ve been with the Club for 3 months or longer. So you should see the album download link. Now I don’t think there was a separate download link for the pre-order purchasers, I didn’t see one.

Thanks, Jung, in all excitement, I guess I failed to notice….lol

AND NOW:
OH MY GOD: SWEET LORRAINE Duo Session Video is Magnificent!!!
It’s a great and special day at the MLT Club. The day one of their finest, best, and most loved by many originals came out on video! Perhaps after this one is exclusively enjoyed at the Club, it would be a good one to consider posting on youtube for the world to enjoy as well. Song writing brilliance “par excellence”, in the tradition of the the great legends like the Beatles.

There was a discussion thread earlier where it was suggested, and generally agreed, that Sweet Lorraine would be hard to make into a “proper” video because everyone has their own mental picture of what the depicted events should look like.
But after seeing this duo session video and their reactions to their own lyrics, I’m envisioning a video where rather than acting out the events, they’re just telling the story around a campfire in the woods, or in a dark room with a single upward-pointing flashlight.

I think that can be true sometimes, but sometimes a great video can blow away and exceed anything anyone imagined. That is the aim and challenge of art. Not necessarily saying though MLT should do a full blown video of Sweet Lorraine as I am sure their priority is their new album and other projects at the moment, but in general about videos.
The Duo Session video of Sweet Lorraine is just awesome to be able to see Mona and Lisa perform it, the expressions as they sing, the intricate guitar work, everything. Love it!
-
Hi, Jung and everyone! I agree that this acoustic version is sizzling good! I love the original on “Orange,” but wow, this version! And as usual, Mona and Lisa’s bubbly personality and playfulness just send it over the top.
I’m sent into the stratosphere with the acoustic version of “Sweet Lorraine,” and MLT is “to blame.” ; )Love, and Stay Groovy!!

David, yes indeed Sweet Lorraine is sizzling good! The Duo Session video is just so fun to watch too. Mona and Lisa sing and play brilliantly and the little flourishes like the kiss and the dramatic ending just bring a huge smile every time I watch it. In all the Duo Session videos really enjoy watching as the camera zooms in and highlights the guitar finger work, foot tapping, the expressions, the smiles, the interaction between Mon and Lisa, all the visual details revealing the music magic being made.
