Hey Joe, a 1965 Pontiac GTO, very nice and cool! Would have been fun to meet at the drag strip with my 02 Mustang GT. 🙂 I might of needed some mods as mine would have had a 75 to 100 HP deficit.

2002 Mustang GT red
My friends were into the high tech sports cars, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-8, and while they handled great, I just couldn’t get excited about having one of those compared to a muscle car. They lacked the visceral appeal I guess. I remember my friend got in my mustang once as we were leaving a parkade, and just immediately commenting on the neck snapping torque he could feel, just creeping along in the parkade. I always enjoyed catapulting a car length in front of vettes off the line with the 02 GT. The stang with proper gear ratio had impressive low and mid range pull with the 5 speed manual, but then the greater power of the automatic vettes would overtake the mustang at the higher end.

Hey Jung,
I could not believe Pontiac blew it some years ago, when they were going to bring the GTO back.
Like Dodge did with the Charger and Challenger. Dodge did it smart they keep the original shape.
Pontiac went the other way and did a whole re-designed. Big Mistake. Car looked terrible and did not sell. Then of course Pontiac went under. That sucked…. But so be it..
That picture looked like my car.

Nice Beach Boys selection there Tom, and a nice shot of Annette Funicello! David, that 7 Little Girls video is catchy and hilarious, “keep your mind on the driving, keep your hands on the wheel”. Jacki, that Nat King Cole version is great, love the piano playing.

Joe, that Dion song is fast and energetic. Like it!
Here is a classic by the Beatles, and a somewhat rare video too. While the long and winding road is referred to more as a metaphor here, in a lot of ways the open road is kind of a like a metaphor about life. Coming up to a fork in the road. Keep the eye on the road ahead or here and now and not the rear view mirror etc…

I drove from California to Wisconsin in 1974 with this song playing frequently on the radio:
-
Lynn, very nice song and great drumming! Very bluesy, and great guitar sounds too!
Here is another bluesy one that will surprise considering who it’s from. “GONNA CHANGE MY EVIL WAYS , ONE OF THESE DAYS . . . . “. Some brilliant AC/DC guitar work as usual, and effective use of modes.

Been away from NASCAR for a while, but when did they switch from Ford Thunderbirds to Mustangs?! Awesome.
