What I like about this song that Mona and Lisa do is the simplicy of this song. For guitar players, there is only what 4 maybe 5 different cords? G , D , C   etc…..my point is Mona and Lisa make this sound so good in today’s world. And make us realize you only need a few cords and amazing vocals and harmonies and kick butt lead and guitar riffs along with the love and energy that they do and it takes all of their songs either cover or original to another level that makes them separate from all other groups.   So would anyone agree with me? These ladies are so fabulous and the new live album shows their talent and how good of a show they can put on.

Hi Bill.  Oh yeah, it’s Mona and Lisa’s incredible vocals and beautiful harmonies that make this song for me.  I use to like the Carpenters version, then I liked the Beatles version even more with John singing lead, and now MLTs version eclipse all of them.  The changeover to Wipe Out out of nowhere in their Cavern performance is icing on the cake.  Plus it’s really cute to see Lisa’s one fingered wait!  In the words of the Beatles, they are “super” awesome!

    Well put Jung,

I find myself liking the Mona and Lisa covers in some cases better than the original. White Room is one, that song has always been a killer song for me over the years but now that Mona and Lisa covered it? Now their version is to me is better. They have magic in their voices and talents that in 2020 it is very refreshing. I just wish I would of caught on earlier than 2017 and just glad I am on this magical ride of music.

I must agree for most part, except…in some cases, for me, MLT’s cover versions / originals  are both Equal in my mind with perhaps the odd covers being better than originals…..lol…. I’m finding it interesting to see the similar/ different viewpoints on the topics here, from others,  and male perspectives,  and for me , being the only female MLT Club member for time being, active on the forums here  offering up my female perspectives…quite intriguing  and interesting… I’m also a believer in that it’s  okay to respectfully disagree/agree with others, as we all have unique views.

    Jacki,

It is so nice to see your point of view, thanks so much, always good to see what others think. That is why I throw out these posts. For me, looking in history? A male dominant’s field of sorts with music in general, yes Janis Joplin, Cher, Aretha Franklin, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Joni Mitchel, etc have knocked the door down and made so much of a difference, and to me? For the Mona Lisa Twins to take on songs like Revolution, White Room, Star Man, Wish you were here, etc….to make it their own is showing us how powerful their talents are and I may go over the top at times but I love their music and feel great listening to it. But Jacki my hats off to you and please continue to post great comments.

With Lynn’s excellent tracking of the MLT youtube video view stats, we see Please Mr Postman breaks the record for reaching 1 Million views the quickest so far.

As Bill points out, Please Mr Postman is a simple song, but with Mona and Lisa’s passionate performance and the feelings that go into their singing, it’s so captivating. You can feel the desperate longing of someone waiting for a letter from a lover. It takes incredible talent to perform a song and express those kinds of emotions as effectively as Mona and Lisa do. It’s such a wonderful interpretation that’s simply irresistible and moving, and the Wipeout part is so fun. I find myself clicking this one often when I’m in the MLT Youtube channel to watch videos.

As a drummer I am impressed with Charlie on this song with his version of wipe out, man can he play or what. But such a simple song with simple cords and vocals takes it to another level to me! LOVE IT
